How do i get MySQL to work on......

How the hell do i get mySQL to work on an Apache server. For a month i've been trying to set up a web enviorment on my computer, so i can test out mysql and php stuff so i don't need to upload scripts to my site every time i want to test them out(i'm a 56k-er) i got php to work, but mysql isn't going along to well. how do i do this on winME. thanks..

Your safest bet is to go to Sourceforge and do a search for "php triad" - it's a 10Mb download, but will install apache, php and mysql in one foul swoop. This would be easier than us trying to talk you through installing mysql manually, especially since you haven't said, specifically, what's going wrong for you.
