Four post minimum?

I’m sure that this has been asked before. I tried searching for this but for some reason I couldn’t find a thread.

When did this four posts every half hour thing start? I can see how post limits are needed on a forum with this many members but didn’t it use to be every five or ten minutes? I remember that traffic was controlled fairly well back then. Doesn’t the half hour thing impede the comfortable flow of “hot” topics at all?

i can see how its a good idea... but yeah it can be really damn annoying if u talking in a thread and u getting some good convo and then it kills ur views for half an hour.. by that time ur thread is long gone into the databases of NewGrounds hehe!

Wow, I'm glad I wasn't here during that. I remember when this place didn’t have any post limits. It was crazy. Too much spam, too few mods to control it all. I liked it when the limit was something like ten minutes or something. Oh well, this shouldn’t be too big of a deal if I just decide to not be that active. Does the count down start after the first of the four posts you make in the thread or the last one? I’d make more sense if it was the first one. I can’t imagine too many good reasons to make more than four posts in a single thread in under a half hour. If it’s the last post then that’d be a pain.
