Dallas won, making them 66-14. Also Warriors are playing them next and they need to win this game or the next to keep a spot. Lakers are tied with them for 7th too.

You are correct on that. I'm a Clippers fan and I would rather have them make it then Golden Stat, but I know they'll have no chance in Hell to beat them and watching the red-hot Warriors alongside Don Nelson battle it out against the best team in the league would be a fun series.

I'm getting hyped up for the playoffs now. Can't wait to see my Rockets go head to head against the struggling Jazz. I'm still pissed about Bonzi not playing, though.

Last night of the regular season and there's still one spot in the West available.

If Golden State wins their game against Portland they'll make the playoffs for the first time in 13 years. However, if the Warriors lose that game and the Clippers win their game against the Hornets the Clippers will make the playoffs for the first time since.... last season.

Can't you feel the drama?

No, because the only reason the Warriors lose that game is if they choke. That should be an automatic win. I won't be that upset if the Clips don't make it. They have no chance against Dallas, while the Warriors have been one of the best teams this month.

Not necessarily, always watch out for teams who have nothing to lose (I don't think Portland can even lose lottery balls).

I won't be that upset if the Clips don't make it.

Its funny because I'm the Laker fan and I will be mad in the spirit of fair play, that Dallas benched their players and Golden State had an easier time, compared to the Clippers who battled a won against a team far better.

Oh, and lol Clips 80% ticket price increase, when they won't get farther than the first round.

So Steve Kerr did some predictions for Y! Sports:

Raptors over Nets in 7
Pistons over Magic in 5
Cavs over Wizards in 5
Bulls over Heat in 6
Mavs over Warriors in 5
Suns over Lakers in 6
Spurs over Nuggets in 6
Rockets over Jazz in 5 (dksaljfdslkfj)

Also, I finished the Fantasy NBA season with a 2nd place trophy and a 3rd place trophy. Not so bad, esp. considering that the 3rd place trophy was mine even after I lost D-Wade, and made several bad moves and lost several key players throughout the season (traded Jermaine O'Neal and Danny Granger for Chris Bosh; traded KG & Darko for Dwyane Wade and Emeka Okafor; lost Michael Redd & Al Jefferson in the round I got knocked out of, etc.).

and the playoffs in NG League went pretty much as I predicted, as I made a couple stupid moves and lost to Masculine 3-6, thanks mainly to those fags out in Denver. Marcus Camby singlehandedly won him the blocks category with a four-game stretch where he had 28 blocks (7, 7, 9, 5). Steve Blake gave him the assists category on his own with a four-game stretch of 40 assists (10, 12, 10, 8). >:\

Pistons over Magic in 6, though don't be suprised if either the Magic hold on stronger than everyone thinks, or they get blown out of the water. They're a very polarized team like that.

Cavs over Wizards in 5

I still don't think, that even with all the injuries, that the Cavs will be able to knock off the Wizards that easy. I'm thinking Cavs over Wizards in 6.

Bulls over Heat in 6

Bulls in 7

Mavs over Warriors in 5

Mavs over Warriors in 7. You don't know how tempted I am to call an upset. I think its my hatred for the Mavericks that's making me think 7.

Suns over Lakers in 6

LAKERS OVER SUNS IN 7.

Spurs over Nuggets in 6

Spurs in 5.

Rockets over Jazz in 5 (dksaljfdslkfj)

Jazz over Rockets in 7.

Also, I finished the Fantasy NBA season with a 2nd place trophy and a 3rd place trophy.

Congrats. Me, I finished every fantasy NBA season with a 5-4 loss. The Newgrounds one by .005 (I forget, but it was damn small) percent of field goals.

Eastern Conference:

Detroit vs Orlando: If Darko is healthy then the Pistons win in 5, if not its a sweep. Nelson and Arroyo can't guard Billlups and the Magic frontline won't be able to stop Webber/McDyess/Sheed. (Detroit in 4 or 5)

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Washinton Wizards: No Butler, no Arenas... This will be a sweep. (Cavs in 4)

Toronto Raptors vs New Jersey Nets: Vinsanity returns to Toronto! So we'll be seeing Vince drive to the basket only to step back behind the three point line and shoot some bricks. Even though the Raptors are young, I think Bosh will run all over the Nets big men. (Toronto in 6)

Miami Heat vs Chicago Bulls: Hinrich always gives Wade fits with his defense, and unlike last year the Bulls now have some big men. I see a first round exit for the champs this year. (Chicago in 6 or 7)

Western Conference:

Dallas Mavericks vs Golden State Warriors: Nellie vs Avery... This will be a test for the Mavs defense but I think they'll evntually win the series. (Dallas in 6)

Phoenix Suns vs LA Lakers: Kurt Thomas and Amare weren't around last year, and this Lakers team just isn't as good as they were a year ago. (Phoenix in 5)

San Antonio Spurs vs Denver Nuggets: The Spurs won't lose this series, they're the Spurs. (San Antonio in 6... AI and Melo are good for one win a piece)

Houston Rockets vs Utah Jazz: This series has 7 games written all over it. With AK47 back Tracy is going to have trouble scoring, luckily he's become more a passer/playmaker this year so he doesn't need to score as much. (Rockets in 7). Mcgrady finally gets out of the first round.

Hey guys, this is how I have my bracket set up. I hope its accurate. I would hope though Houston ruins it by winning it all. :-p You can even see how many games I think the series will end.

That's what happens when you don't check in...and when you keep Ronny Turiaf as a consistent starter. :3

I don't see whats so fun about the regular fantasy game. Its too much changing and you can't help if someone takes someone better and you're left with shit players. Thats why I play the different ones on NBA.com. There are actual prizes as well. I ranked 143th place in one of them in the whole country, but finished somewhere in the 200's.

This time, I'm going to be doing my playoff homework in order to hopefully win a prize.

Oh, and lets keep NBA Playoffs talk, here.

Turiaf owned the last month of the season.

Albeit, I should have been more active in adding/dropping players, but still, .005 comes down more to luck than anything.

Leandro Barbosa, among the fastest players in the NBA, ran away with the league's sixth man award Monday.

The "Brazilian Blur" received 101 of a possible 127 first-place votes from a media panel.

The honor came one day after Barbosa matched his career playoff high with 26 points in the Phoenix Suns' 95-87 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers Sunday in Game 1 of their opening series.

"Give him a soccer ball," the Lakers' Kobe Bryant said when asked what could be done to stop Barbosa. "Tell him Brazilians should be playing soccer, not basketball."

Can't say I'm surprised... Some people were saying that Stackhouse should win it (those people are idiots) but it Barbosa was clearly the best 6th man this season, and its about time he started getting recognized, he's been a good player for a while now.

Jazz v Rockets tonight... Hopefully Houston can go up 2-0 in that series.

He'd be a starting PG on any other team not named Phoenix, San Antonio, Detroit, or Dallas, really.

Jazz v Rockets tonight... Hopefully Houston can go up 2-0 in that series.

f u, k.

Also, some rumors & such:

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Garnett has the right to opt out of his contract after next season, and there's rampant speculation that he will do just that and sign with the Los Angeles Lakers as a free agent. Because of that opt-out clause, many NBA observers think Minnesota general manager Kevin McHale should trade Garnett this summer to ensure the team doesn't lose him without getting anything in return.
---
New York Knicks guard Steve Francis could be headed to the Los Angeles Clippers, where he would reunite with Cuttino Mobley, his close friend and former Houston Rockets teammate.

The Clippers need a veteran point guard, given the age and decline of Sam Cassell and the uncertain status of their injured young prodigy, Shaun Livingston.
---
The Seattle SuperSonics will try to trade point guard Luke Ridnour and acquire a frontline point guard with size and experience. Ridnour was supposed to have a breakout season, especially after a contract extension. After a series of inconsistencies and bouts with insecurity, however, Ridnour did not give the organization any security about his future as a starting point guard.
---
Rick Adelman, former coach of the Sacramento Kings and the Portland Trailblazers, is one of the finest offensive minds in the game and conveniently unemployed.

If, as expected, the Seattle SuperSonics indeed relieve Bob Hill of his coaching duties this week, Adelman would make an excellent replacement, perhaps the nearly perfect match.
---
After the Sacramento Kings fired head coach Eric Musselman last week, Detroit Pistons lead assistant Terry Porter may become a candidate to become his successor.

When asked about the Kings job prior to Saturday night's playoff game against Orlando, Porter was emphatic that his priority is to help the Pistons in their quest to win the NBA title. However, he added that he would like another opportunity to be a head coach. (Wasn't he the interim coach of the Bucks for a while a couple seasons back?)
---
Count on a fair number of changes with the Boston Celtics' roster for next season, and Sebastian Telfair likely will be one. The point guard, who was arrested on a felony gun charge Friday in New York, probably has played his last game for the team. Aside from the arrest, Telfair had a disappointing first season. Telfair, who will make $2.6 million next season, is easily movable.
---
Lenny Wilkens has remained tight-lipped on what precisely he wants to do next season with the Seattle SuperSonics.

According to sources, Wilkens does not have an amicable relationship with general manager Rick Sund, who privately became concerned about his future with the team the moment Wilkens joined the ownership group. Wilkens has longed to return to a general manager role and may ask owner Clay Bennett to become the team's new GM.

TORONTO (AP) - Sam Mitchell was honored as the NBA coach of the year Tuesday after leading the Toronto Raptors to a franchise-record-tying 47 victories and their first Atlantic Division title.

He won the Red Auerbach Trophy in a decisive vote over Utah's Jerry Sloan. Mitchell picked up 49 first-place votes for a total of 394 points in balloting by 128 basketball writers and broadcasters. Sloan had 301 points followed by Dallas' Avery Johnson with 268.

Mitchell is the sixth coach in the team's history. He guided the Raptors to an NBA-best 20-game improvement (27-55) over the 2005-06 season. Toronto trails New Jersey 1-0 in a first-round playoff series.

Oh, and Carlisle is gone from Indiana.

And I don't know where the Francis rumor came from, but I sure hope it didn't come from Hoopsworld. That site is full of it.

El que la Monta, Monta Ellis has won the NBA's Most Improved Player Award...

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Golden State guard Monta Ellis was selected the NBA's Most Improved Player on Wednesday, edging Sacramento's Kevin Martin in the closest voting in the award's history.

Ellis, a second-year pro who joined the Warriors straight out of his Mississippi high school, received 47 first-place votes and 352 points from a panel of sports writers and broadcasters. Martin, the Kings' high-scoring guard, got 44 first-place votes and 349 points. Utah's Deron Williams was a distant third with 101 points.

I think this year was the hardest choice for the winner of this award.

Kevin Martin turned into what we can see as a future all star, or third man on a great team and Deron Williams turned into a SUPERSTAR from just being rookie, last year. I wish Deron and Monta could of shared the award.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy was chosen as the NBA's Rookie of the Year on Wednesday after leading all rookies with averages of 16.8 points, 4.0 assists and 35.4 minutes in 57 games.

Roy received 127 out of a possible 128 first-place votes (638 points) for the award, known as the Eddie Gottlieb Trophy, from a panel of sports writers and broadcasters.

Toronto's Andrea Bargnani finished second with 264 points and Memphis' Rudy Gay was third with 93 points.

Not really a surprise but still, congrats to Brandon.

And I'm thinking for kicks in this thread, I'll post my personal NBA first, second, and third team and also who should of been MVP, including the defensive first team, as well. It would be fun to see other people's opinions on that sort of thing too.

The Pistons are not the Heat.... The Bulls cna't beat Detroit, period. I know its only the first game but it showed what everyone should have already known... There's no one on the Bulls that can guard Billups and Wallace... Webber had a terrible game and we still won by a ton.
