Today I had the pleasant experience of switching over to the FireFox browser from that other browser, you know, the one made by Bill Gates and endorsed by Satan himself. The reason I chose to do so was specific: Spyware makes me uneasy. With the patriot act already passed, the freedom to access sites we chose without someone knowing so makes me uncomfortable. That is why I personally review every cookie placed in my cookie jar. FireFox was made with that in mind. Active X, a plug-in or something simmilar to that is in Microsoft's Internet Privacy Remover...er... Explorer. It allows companies to download spyware directly into your computer. The amusing thing is Fox 9 News did a piece on spyware last week. They did a piece on blogging earlier this summer. I wish the 'news' didn't tell me things I've known about for years. But anyway, this is an excellent browser.
I opened it, and was at first dissatisfied with the interface appearance. It reminded me of Nintendo's approach to video games. Keep graphics simple stupid. I then realized something. Dispite the retro unoriginal graphics, the program runs great. Load time is ridiculously faster, and the program just runs smoothly. I have experienced none of the problems I've found with AOL, IE, Safari, Netscape. Ah, Netscape, the joys of grade school, where kids were like "Guess what?!? I'm getting the internet!" I was probably the first kid in my school to get the internet. And now it's twice as fast! 56k instead of 28.8! *Sigh* I'm getting cable as soon as the remodeling of the kitchen is finished and the G4 goes back in the room next to the kitchen.
Anyway, I strongly suggest this browser. I am especially impressed with the "Latest Headlines" menu, in which one can click down and find a list of the top 25 or so headlines, and open a report on them. Huh *Looks* "Eurostar turns 10," nice to know. It's still "in red." Does that mean it's communist? I'll read into it later. Pardon me, I am a bit out of it. The find function, press ctrl + f, rather than bringing up a window, brings up a tab at the bottom of the screen, and edits placement to the first appearance of a word as you type. It is excellent and simple. Anyway, I strongly suggest giving FireFox a whirl. The OS X version was, I believe, an 8.6 MB download. What do you have to lose?

Yes, FireFox is great, everyone knows that, and a large majority of people are starting to use it. I like my sig too much to change it to something I didn't make. Sorry, but hey, keep fighting the good fight.

Go into tools, options, general and you can pick your home-page

Which is better, Mozilla Browser or the Firefox one. You can download either one from the website, but which is better?

I like firefox, but I think if IE added tabbed browsing, I would go back. They block popups now anyway.

I just switched myself, I love it. My computer had been bogged with spyware twice now, but that was with IE.
