Change the course of history! 2004-11-13 02:04:23 Reply

I remember three years ago when I was sitting at work, picking my ample posterior, when I happened to randomly come across Newgrounds. I had heard of Flash from friends, but I opened it and tried it once and it was too hard so I deleted it in a fit of angst. In particular I happened to stumble across Heroes of Cybertron by Jose Ortiz (Which was #1 in the portal forever from what I remember). It opened my eyes to the possibilities of Flash, and lo and behold here I am still worshiping him but with one slight difference - now we are fans of each other!!

So yea, I just wanted to give props to Jose for the inspiration and BIG props to Tom & Dan for Alien Hominid!! I'm telling all my friends to buy a copy and I'm going to buy like 10 of them!! It was the greatest thing to flip open that page of Playstation magazine and see the Hominid staring at me! This preview on Gamespot was particularly glowing. Be sure and check out the developer interview it made me laugh! It was the greatest thing to flip open that page of Playstation magazine and see the Hominid staring at me! It gives heart to Flashers such as us. Maybe if it does really well, and I batter my eyelashes at Tom, he'll let me do Pimp's Quest next :D

Speaking of Pimp's Quest, come one come all to the NEW AND IMPROVED Pimp's Quest Online beta phase!! We need people to give us feedback on gameplay and features. Heaps of kudos to Josh Young for putting so much effort into it (Much more than me I humbly confess!).

Now here's the part where YOU, the average Newgrounds user, get to change history!! Provided for your perusal are 2 versions of the same shot from Stick Slayer VIII: Into Glory Ride. The catch is that I can't friggin decide which music is more befitting! If you could do me a monumental service and check the following links and tell me which music you think better suits the carnage I would be ever so grateful. Also note that although the sounds and music are different, the filesizes are identical, once and for all debunking the myth that quantity of sounds raises filesizes. So load up your movies with sound effects guys!!

Music option 1
Music option 2

That's all for now! Keep an eye out for Stick Slayer VIII: Into Glory Ride and Pimp's Quest 2 coming soon!

Option 2's sound seems to be made for previews only, go for #1.

I just saw that Developer Interview... AWESOME job! Tom, and more recently, Dan, you guys have been my heroes for years... you never cease to impress.

Good luck with Alien Hominid - may the bling it produces buy you many shiny things.

Just to add to the consensus, option #1 works a lot better - it fits better with the visuals and is much more immediate. Sweet trailer!

Wow, changing history's easy ;-D

Music Option #1, with out a shadow of a doubt. It is an amazing score by itself and it fits the theme more. The second option is just so over EPIC, too forced.

By the way amazing work.

number 2... it sounds more like a military march or something like that, good for the masses of baddies advancing, in my opinion.

Ben...That post was a masterpiece. I have never seen such art in a post like yours in ages - Every artist that post was directed to will shine a smile on their face.
It shocks to amaze me that you have came a long way through the art of flash.

And as much as I like Option #2, I absolutely love Option #1. I'd go with that.

Good luck with all the work! I'm very excited to see the new Stick Slayer come out.

Number 1 definitely suits carnage and massacre. Number 2 seems to fit marching and oncoming hostilities. Can't you combine them in some way to fit to the pictures? Use number 2 as a build-up , then go to number 1? If you must pick one, I'd go for number 1, as it is more powerful and dramatic.

The lower, softer one, definitely. Gives it a more ominous feel.
