I am currently reading "Interview with a Vampire" by Anne Rice.
I have also seen the movie and from what I can tell...the first entire chapter isn't in the movie, and there are only 4 chapters to the book. And Lestat is more of an asshole in the book too.

I'm not currently reading a book, but the latest on I've read was "Still Life with Crows" by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. Quite an outstanding book.

I've read it many times. One of my most favorite... I did not like her very last Chronicle of the series, "Blood Canticle".
Read Queen of the Damned and Vampire Lestat.
Man, the movie ruined it for all devout fans... At least we have our books.
Current book I'm reading? I read many books at the same time... but right now I'm reading "Rabbi Jesus" and "Fight Club".

great book
I loved it. But I guess most 16 year olds aren't really intrested in literature. One of the greatest books written in the US. I know I was... and all of the sudden, I'm studying English... funny how a few years can change a person.

Haha, yeah, I forgot about all that. If you want to like L'Estat, read The Vampire L'Estat first and then read Interview. Louis is a puss, and I hated him. But if you read Interview first, you tend to be more sympathetic to Louis, and think L'Estat is an ass. And you are correct, they chopped a huge portion of the beginning out of the movie.
My advice is read the first three, and then quit. The rest are totally crappy. The Mayfair Witch series she did goes the same way. First thre are good, then they suck. Such a shame.

I actually thought it was one of the easiest books I read. How did you find it complicated? An honest question.

Well reading the vocabulary is normal for that type of book, but sometimes you need to think outside of the box when it comes the meaning of the novel, and all the different symbols in it.

For Example.... why is the title "To Kill a Mocking Bird", when there's hardly any mentioning of mocking birds.

Actually, that is covered in one of the more important passages in the book. When Atticus explains to Jem that it is wrong to kill a Mockingbird, because it does no harm, and brings pleasure with it's song. It goes with the lesson of leaving Boo alone, because he doesn't bother anyone, and comes to the kids' rescue when they need him.

Actually there's a whole discussion about mocking birds in the middle of the book, when the kids are going off to shoot their guns. "Killing a Mocking bird is a sin, because all they do is sing". This is supposed to simile Tom robinson, who didn't do anything wrong except fall in love. But he was ostracized because he was a Negro.

Yeah, I forgot about that(read it 2 years ago). But "To kill a mocking bird" has a overall meaning, rather than other novels that are just stories with a plot, a climax, and a resolution.... so if you think you can read it once and answer all the questions, you'll have to go back and re-read it. These are the types of novels I'm not good at.
And don't let me start with Shakespear :P

I see. Everyone is different. I have re-read it about 5-6 times now, so therein lies my advantage. :)

Oh let's not. I love The Bard, but I am ill-read in his works.
