Exactly I have no idea what people here think goths are, but this is waht I think that they are, because maybe I have got this wrong and need correcting so I won't spawn anymore arguements:

A goth is a teenage guy or girl that wears corpse makup on their faces and eyeliner, the guys look like girls and the girls look like crap. They die their hair black and wear black cloths like trenchcoats and spikes and nets on their arms. They often write poetry that is really lame and sad. They listen to techno and metal and make themselves sad and complain alot and shout at their parents.
They are social outcasts that may have once been doing another craze but it didn't work out for them so they thought they might aswell be a goth so they have an excuse for being depressed and that they are not just whiny little bitches.
Goth want to be individual but look like every other goth in the world.

NOBODY takes them seriously, everyone laughs at them as if they are naive little children playing dressups.
Alot of goths think they are vampires. Oh, and they have conventions where they meet up with other goths so that they can discuss their black souls and their individuality. Not all goths are satan worshipers, because alot of them have crosses.

Well I could be wrong about all that, but that's pretty much what I call a goth.
