Man, this thread grows at an amazing rate ... I don't think I'll ever find the time to sit down and read through it all again.

About the Blam Club website (http://www.sheltered-life.com/blam) - It says I couldn't reach the site because a DNS lookup error occurred, and it timed out during the lookup. Is anyone else having this problem right now?

Hey KDOG - MrPrez (#90) has around the same number as you ... I suggest you contact him somehow and race him to 100 Blams ... should be fun :)
let's bring it on :)
Alright, a race would be interesting. You're a little bit ahead of me so it looks like I will have to put in some overtime tonight. What shall the waiger be? I think we should make it somewhere around 3 blams.

I'll give a BLAM to the winner.

I think I figured out why people do not like BLAM club. Of course, no one likes getting their movies BLAMmed. I think it's because we do not answer to any of the other groups, not the Rancidpsychos, not the clocks (a number of clocks are actually in our ranks), not any group save our own.

They're worried, perhaps justifiably, that we may get overzealous. We need to reassure them that we will not. Of course, there are the few like justkev who just plain hate us period. We have no means to handle that, so let's move along.

I did stop doing that after 1 day. I've come to terms with the fact that no one liked my movie. But I will never support blam club. There are movies that are not horrible that are posted here. These movies would survive without the blam club interferance. Blam club should focus on the truly horrible crap that pops up like the blank screens, things that aren't really movies, "tests" and the 5 second pieces of crap that people submit early because they got bored and stoped working on them.

(Honestly, when I started posting reviews, I didn't think I would be remembered. I have a short attention span you see, but this little bit of encouragement may go a long way. Now I know I can piss people off. Just a warning.)

Yeah, there have been a few submissions like that, but you are likely a non critical one, granted I am likely more critical than you are now, but most NGers are MORE SO than I am, thus it is a tough crowd to please. And I do admit that good movies have been posted up. I got the others to help save one from the brink, thanks to the fact that one of our own loved it, and warned us in time. also I have voted 3 and up on some links, so I am aware that sometimes we goof up, or I just like it, whatever.

Argh!@*$

Every time I think I have the auto-update for the target URL list figured out, I run into a new problem.

It'd be nice to finish this website so I can do Blam Club stuff instead of webmaster stuff.

By the way...there's some stuff on the target URL list that has been there for a few days. If it's listed there, it's still a "valid" target.

Yeah, this is why it is more important now to watch before we strike. Otherwise, we may get a wrong movie in the sites. I've been helping Vash and Trae occasionally deal with unconditional clock-haters.

You know, I can log who adds a target URL. That way, if someone develops a pattern of adding URLs that aren't total shit or adding URLs submitted only by certain individuals or groups totally out of hatred, we can revoke their access.

Seems like it would help alleviate the posting of decent movie URLs, help us maintain our integrity, and weed out the members who are exploiting this club for personal vendettas.

I believe movies should be allowed to take the natural course to blamdom. Posting them here (whether they are crap or not) automatically hurts them. It would be much more fair to let the first 25 or 50 random people who view the movie decide it's fate. If it's blammed it's blammed.
You all relieze that many people (both in memebers and non-members) come here just to blam movies, not watch or rate them.

Blam club is not needed.
