There actually is a very little number of sites that are Canadian exclusive, and the same applies for magazines. Other than Macleans, which was mentioned already, I don't know of any Canadian-based magazines.

As someone stated earlier, there are a number of Canadian-operated websites. However, they usually serve a wide demographic scale.

I do, however, know of a website that is Canadian-based. It's designed for people in the Toronto area can meet others in the same area.

http://www.meetmeinto.com/ A friend of mine loves this site, and recently a lot more people I know have been going to it.

There aren't many, but Total gamer is one. I think there'd been an "AH" feature, in its Post E-3 Mag. I'm not sure

It's a hand out at Canadian Blockbuster Retailers.

Google is your friend, Tom.

If you wanted to know magazines for a specific age group, that would greatly help to narrow down the search. With the interests I'm assuming ages 13-30.

Also, for sites there's The Fuck Society. Who can forget Banana Phone, Jungle Cock: The Game or any of the Soft Outer Crust episodes from Dave Teatro?

I'll have more later. I just woke up.

I like www.muchmusic.ca, its the candian mtv that actually plays music

as for magazines...
............
......I can't even think of any canadian magazines
maybe a hunting magazine or fishing mag.

If you're looking for a place to put ads, muchmusic is a great idea because they always do really good contests and you get ALOT of advertsing if you do a content deal with MuchMusic.

In comparison to Mtv, Much is actually kinda cool

I watch MTV Canada on digital cable sometimes
I mean whats the point of watching it, they have like 5 Music videos on their show a day... Much used to have like some 500 music videos a day, but now its like 200 or 150, cause their playing all this crap like that Jessica Simpson and that other guy on that show, I forget what its called, and "making the band" "Pimp my Ride" , and all sorts of crap shipped in over the border

Now I find their music hard to find tasteful, but for the general teen population they enjoy it... Who wants to watch cheerleading squads, and Making the Band all day not me... generally I just spend some time on LimeWire if I want to listen to music...

Also TechTV is pretty cool too...

In general www.google.ca has got to be the most popular canadian website as well

And for magazines, it depends on the person I guess.. probably Maclean's is the most popular and for newspapers the Globe and Mail is pretty much accepted nationally

But mostly canadians pay too much attention to the ongoings off the U.S.A. I guess we are kind of overshadowed in the popularity or know-of in the world.. I mean how many Iraqi's, Palistinian's, British, Russians, or Chinese know who the Canadian Prime Minister is... not many

Most of the stuff here that are popular aren't Canadian.

I'd say the most visited/popular sites around here would be this website (www.newgrounds.com), www.ebaumsworld.com, www.addictinggames.com, and www.liquidgeneration.com and EBgames is the most popular store/website for video gaming and anime. Also, I usually see PCGamer being read by myself or other people more than other tech magazines.

Hope that helps.

uh no "THEY" dont....that your lucky.... that is only the stereotypical america... lots of US people live as cold winters as we have cause they are just as far north as like windsor or toronto

What the hell are you talking about, maybe 1% of the US population lives that far north, if that.

Im canadian and pretty much everything you posted for me to post my thoughts on are all published in America, not in Canada.

What are some of the most popular / COOLEST magazines and websites in Canada?

Hmmmm, all my favourites are made in America.

Sorry tom, nothing strikes my mind on this.

Yeah, that's about it...
Our newspapers usually suck...
Our magazines are pretty much for 13 y.o. pre-teens girls or women in the forties.

We don't have anything close to Mad or Rolling Stone...except maybe the movie magazine Premiere!

I got just the thing.

I live in Quebec, and almost every teen knows about Safarir, which is the equivalent of Mad Magazine. http://www.safarir.com/
They advertise video games and sometimes will plug websites with funny content, and the average age of the reader must be 13-18 or something like that, pretty much just like NG. Its read by the whole province.

they launched it in the U.S. a couple years back, it was called "Nuts", maybe some people know about it :o
