All the music I make is with the program Fruity Loops. You can download a free trial of it at http://www.fruityloops.com/!

Reason 2.5 is what i just got yesterday. I first looked at it and was like "OMG WTF!" (bbq) because there were so many buttons and crap. But its surprisingly extremely easy to catch on. I just have to learn what each button does Exactly. Anyway, reason 2.5 demo is available...it gives you everything reason 2.5 can, theres no restrictions, except for two MAJOR things. The demo closes after every 20 minutes, and you can save anything. Its strictly for trying out and crap.

I use it for editing...very rare though. Mostly I use it to convert some MP3's to WAV's for sound fx. As for the best program...In my opinion its Cubase OR if you got deep pockets and a very very high ends computer. Get Gigastudio ;). I plan to get giga this coming december (cant wait O_o). Right now though, I use FL 4 and lots of plugins.
