the painters wont be fighting. They'll be in battle painting whats going on (if they get there). Ok, instead i think they want a leader that would somehow manage to get the map wrong and march them in the wrong direction.
(when i was watching a video of WWII, there was a certain battle that took place where over 500 Americans died, but only 2 french died. Now i can explain what happend: They were this close to the battlefield and one of the soldiers got shot, then as they ran in fear (realizing that they were headed into battle) and while they were running another was shot.
