Well, I suppose they think that perhaps if the user wanted to be contacted, they'd have an e-mail addy listed or their AIM ID in their profile. It would probably use up too many resources.

People would spam other people. And you can't have mods on private messaging, obviously. With the maturity of the average NG user being in the minus's, I feel it wouldn't work.

I'm with you. I really don't feel like geting 400 PMs from people who want to make "yo mamma" jokes at my my expense because of something I said 3 days ago on the forum. Even if you took to time to write the code to allow users to not receive messages from certain users, whats the point? If you really want to talk to somebody, why can't you just use Email?
