I remember back in the day, Sierra made a game called "The adventures of Willy Beamish." Somehow, the concept art reminded me of it, becuase I had the hint book (I know, I'm a lousy cheater, heh.) for it. It included the concept art, and Pico 2 just brought this to mind.
Anyway, as for the final style of Pico 2: Almost perfect. Ingenious. Why? Well, yes, I DO love Calvin and Hobbes, but that is only part of the reason. Their style seems to fit Pico. Calvin and Hobbes was an innocent, yet philosphical veiw of childhood, and Pico seems to have that same charm. Yes, he's a gun toting maniac, but somehow he has the same innocent, yet wise personality that Calvin has. The first game showed some of that, in his comments. A liitle boy with wisdom, an uncanny form of intelligence. Well, that wisdom is what I found cool about Pico. Other than the fact that he's an adorable little psycho.
Hmm... the art just seems to match. The wisdom and innocence of Calvin and Hobbes for a wise little boy in an insane world. Well, some may be confused by what I mean by wisdom, but what I mean is perhaps truth. I don't know, I'm rambling again, but you may know what I'm talking about.
Just see if you can get Pico a bit more like Calvin, not EXACTLY like him, but enough to make Pico look a little less "Cartoony" and more "Comicy." It's ultimately your decision, and I'm not griping, the work is great. Just a few suggestions. Once again, nice job, please try and see if you can get some concept art from Jose of the other characters in this style. Oh, and the hair needs to be altered just a tad, in the back, heh, heh. Nice work Jose!
