Why whistle free blams?

Let me explain my situation. An hour ago I came across two movies that were obviously free blams, "Cooking with Poopie" and "Im Louie Anderson1!!!!!!! " both by Sideshow_Mel. They got blammed, with final scores of 0.13 and 0.21, so you can't watch them to know what I'm talking about, but the Author's comments on both movies were:

:THIS IS HILARIOUS
:VOTE 5
:REVIEW 10
:OR ELSE YOU SUCK

The movies were both about 4 frames, containing poorly photoshopped GIF/JPG images and some (low quality) sound.
So I hope I made clear that this was a free blam.

Now the Portal FAQ states that in cases like these, we should blow the whistle on them for being "malicious". So I did. But I guess I was the only one. So now I ask myself: did I get negative whistle points for being a dumbass, or is my whistle level not affected because the movies were blammed anyway?
And why should I even bother whistling ever again for free blams if no one else does it? It would almost seem that the whistle option is just an easy way for LF fans to quickly get rid of Piconjo movies.

And by the way: I remember a movie that was 'marked for administrative review' more than a month ago, and it still is
(_father's day). Now I know that the NG admins have more important stuff to do, but this way people never get their whistle points.

Actually, they don't want you to whistle free blams anymore. The rules are not quite up to date. See this , for example.

I guess they were made by the same guy, maybe he got tired of them, changed the file name and requested to have them deleted.
But that's just my theory, as you can see from my posts above, I haven't really mastered the rule section yet

Anyway... I believe the "whistle free blams" was introduced so authors would be pushed away from just submitting crap-- remember, Tom wants this to be a site where the best flash artists come to submit their work, and they won't want to work around a bunch of half-assed shit flash artists. But it was probably removed because everyone and their mother was whistling everything that sucked, not just the obvious free blams.

It really pisses me off that some people just submit such shit. I mean, have a little respect for the site, please. Maybe they should get rid of turd of the week-- it's a fun stat to look at, but some people just submit crap to get that "award"

Yeah I know, a lot of people modify movies after they passed judgement, just to get the famous Turd.
Here is one, for example

btw, I heard rumors saying that flash movies who got modified can't get turd (reviewers). It isn't in the FAQ, but I just found that the FAQ is kinda outdated, so I'm not sure what to believe.

Mel comes off his submission ban every couple of weeks and we get those two entries again.

Go through the old News threads for Wade's threads. I've tracked them down a few times now and can't be bothered to do it again :-P~~~ Back in ~February or so he asked us to start whistling the "Free Blam" submission. People were flooding the portal with that drivel in an effort to bulk up people's BP stats. In Juneish the FAQ was updated based upon the rules at the time. In August, the submission bans were put in place and Wade asked people to stop flagging things. This way, after they get blammed three times within 30 days, they get a 15 day "vacation" from being able to make us watch their crap.

Flagged entries are dealt with manually. Wade has a tendency to let things pile up and then mass delete 1k flagged entries. We haven't gotten any BPs off those the last couple of times. There's no telling if anyone managed to get WPs off of them.

Wade asked authors who want their flash removed to change the name of it to Deletesomething. Occasionjally he goes through looking for them and mass deletes a bunch of them. Scott has gotten rid of a ton of good flash in that ... Necromancer Series, Robotron, etc.

FAQ was updated in June for the first time since I joined, but even so some of it is out of date. That above situation (switching out to crap flash) was based upon some nonsense that occured last summer. Spambegone (JamesBall last I checked) was one of multiple people pulling that nonsense. When they got busted, instead of going, "well yeah, but nothing said I couldn't," they all went on rants about how it was their "right" to do it, or some such trash. A couple of people got their accounts deleted over it and they all lost their TotW "awards." Since then, anyone who changes out the flash content is disqualified from winning it. There have been a number of other BS attempts to "win" it through trickery. My latest favorite, of course, being -Err0r who switches off flash trying to get it, never wins it, then posts rant threads in all the forums when he sees someone else doing exactly the same thing he's been doing. Anywho, the most recent trick was to change the dimensions at which NG displays the flash from the normal (at which it passed) to 10x10 pixels. That's also been "fixed."
