thanks guys! thinking of making a new series of toons featuring mini characters like those...they are damn cute!
One more thing, how to tween those characters like in the menu screen of The Matrix Still Has You where as if the characters are moving in 3D space (eg: the all so famous trinity kick, neo dodging bullets and trinity jumping of the building)?

That's not hard at all...they are like "puppets"...the secret is in their eyes (no iris, one color) and their hands (puppets hands)

With lots of hard time consuming effort and work. If it was easy, everyone would do it

yeah but how?...we can always learn some new techniques...if it's hard, doesn't mean that we can never able to do it.

Take the shapeless head. Tween the face and skew and resize appropriatly so it looks like it's rotating.

yeah i know that but notice that each eye shrinks at diff rates? like if the head is moving to the right, the eye at the right side becomes smaller first than the one at the left. Also, the ears, feet and hands, notice that they kinda like "switched layers" as the head turns. LF also use this 3D technique in his movie "Final Fantasy: Chocobo Remix"

It's simply a matter of shrinking the body shapes and moving the eye/mouth shapes to the left or right. It's kind of hard to explain, but it's made just the way it looks...
Sometimes Masking is involved but not always
If you want to see some real 3-d tweens check out System Interrupted by HeReTiK and Pustota by Kol

well, i can't find System Interrupted by HeReTiK in NG but i do love Pustota...is there a 3D tweening in that movie? well, maybe there is, the eyes kinda "vanishes" as the head turns to the side, i'm always trying to figure out how to do that but i don;t think masking is the answer coz sometimes the head moves and how is the masking layer follow the head?
So what i think is that LF and Kol placed each eye in diff layes and group them while animating the character and animate/resize the eye individually as the body/head turns...what do u think? But what about the ears and hands? they kinda switched layers and went behind the head when the head turns coz the head covers the ear.
Hell, i juz hope LF reads this answer this thread..is it ok if i email him directly on how he did his 3D tweening?

it's all motion tweens...but each thing has its own layer so he can change the shape independently from the rest...

ok, I rewatched LF's menu. Yes, everything is on it's own layer (each eye, piece of face, etc) and as the head turns he simply shrinks the eye horizontally.
Here's "dependency" by manuel fallman (HeReTiK) which features some of the best 3-d tweening I've seen. This kind requires shape tweening, motion tweening, and masking

yeah, he did a good job in doing the head turning tweens. I think he used a mask layer for the shape of the head and a layer for the head's texture behind the mask layer. But his head turns too fast and i cant see properly how he tweens the eyes so one eye "disappears" as the head turns to the side. also, notice there's a eye socket at the eye part? he tweened that too so the head looks 3D and not flat. How did he manage to tween all that?

To make something look "3D", add multiple "tweens" in different layers... Make them go...erhh... all another way :P (Just look at ur monitor, or the sky, move, and see how the rest of the items move.) Something far away moves slower then something close by!

To move myself is easy but to make the thing i drew into "3D" is hard coz u can always end up that looks weird or not natural. Is there a mini sample that someone can show us?
Legendary Frog, pls help me!

It's not hard. Just make everything in a different layer and you can animate it, aswell. ;)

looks easy, but u see, when the head turns, the eyes, ears, mouth and sideburns move too. Now i'm having problems on figuring how to animate the HAIR, SIDEBURNS and EARS when the body turns (refer to the matrix has u's menu's Neo dodging bullets and Neo fighting-in-the-sky scene).
Can someone help me? or should i email LF?

You need to put them each part of the body part like: arms, hands, legs, head, eyes, mouth and whatever you wanna use, in a new layer. You get many layers, yes. But that's the only way to do it. But don't expect you can animate things in 3D now! You need to animate it like 2D. So the tweens will do what you want and that you don't get that they are moving strange. Hopefully this helps. :)

wel, i followed the rule of drawing a "chibi" which is the height of the head is equal to the height of the body and i got this:
also i placed each thing on diff layers: left eye, right eye, left hand, right hand, left feet, right feet, left sideburn, right sideburn, mouth, left ear, right ear etc etc all in diff layers
opinions pls

Thats a very good start! Try putting a head-shaped mask over the eyes and move the eyes a little bit away horizontally from the head

It's not bad, but does your hair stay still when you rotate? the hair needs to rotate too.
You could always come up with your own style...

thanks! but i notice that LF did not move his hairstyles in his MATSHU (matrix still has you)...he juz move the sideburns...maybe u can try zooming in when playing the menu screen..then click ur mouse and hold it, then move it a little so it plays a few frames forward coz i cant pause that screen..it's a MC.
also, if u r saying to move the hairstyle, u notice in the first one ,the trinity kick. the guard's hair kinda shape tweened so it shows the hair behind the head....can u tell me how to shape tween?? do i need to make my shape into a sumbol first b4 i shape tween it? if yes, how am i suppose to edit that shape when it's already a symbol?
