LF shouldn't be offended. You know, then there are hundreds of people who vote "0" on all your movies every day (and thousands - "5"), when there are lots of artists who makes parody from your movies, then there are hundreds of topics with your name in BBS - you know that you have reached new heights and became a NG celebrity (even if Wade say that there are no celebs on NG, olny flash artists). LF choosed this way.

I agree completely Regis...
Hes a Celeb now, like it or not there is going to be a hate/makefunof club.
It's not like Piconjo actually rules a bunch of people, or tells them what to do, as if it were some sort of dictatorship (All Hail!).
But what gets me mad is:
+We flame on the forums about someone, and people just say "Pfft, he animates better than you! Lets see YOU do something better"
+We take the time it takes to make something better, and funnier.
+Then we get flamed for making such an "offensive" display of "hate", when all we were doing is just having a good itme.

I agree with you on most of your examples of a fanbase.
But Madness and XiaoXiao both had VERY good, smooth, and well timed/placed animation.
LF / Pube Muppet / etc. Are different stories.
What I was trying to say is that even though the cartoons are horrible, Pube Muppet still has a fanbase that allows it to stay on, even though it's small.

I can definatly see where you are coming from. I mean you have to run this site by the book. If its not its obvious everything will result in chaos. Worst case scenario being that there will be no newgrounds for the same people who are opposing you trying to prevent this from happening. I could imagine how frustrating this would get.

Some suggestions:
1. Revamp the site rules to better protect users from abuse (<--Key word!) from other users.
2. If a flash author wants to change a flash that has already passed judgement, it will be flagged for admin review before going live. While this will increase the admins workload, it will also prevent people from uploading something that wouldn't have passed judgement on its own. I've noticed piconjo (or people that co-author him) do this quite often. Read the first page or two of reviews for "Kerri's Bigger Invention," they are for a game staring Nintendos Kirby.
3. If 2 does not go into affect, make the whistle a permenent (sp?) on flashes, rather then having only on under judgement flashes. This will alow users to flag these flashes that bypass judgement, rather then having an admin review of every little change to a movie.

Good in theory but people would abouse this privilge and go around flaging everything.

From the FAQ
"If a user abuses their use of the whistle to flag portal entries and reviews that do not violate our terms, they will lose whistle points and eventually be stuck with a broken whistle.
Users with broken whistles will have no effect on anything they attempt to flag. However, users with a broken whistle will still receive negative or positive points, so they can either dig themselves a deeper hole, or try and climb out and regain a normal whistle level at which time they could effectively flag entries once again."

Totally agree ^_^

If an author wants to change any of the specs of the movie after submission, then let them. Does it matter? People can always e-mail an admin if the "change" violates the rules of the portal. But, this occurs very rarely...
Just so they know that once they change any of the specs after the movie passes judgement, they are automatically ineligible from winning any portal awards.

I think that would get abused big-time. The way it is now deals with rule-breaking submissions fine.

LOL, he already posted on this thread about 20 times, I think he found out alright. Next time, you might want to read a thread before you post on it.

I think the rules should define the difference between a parody and simply insulting. I've seen illwillpress parodies that deserve recognition and I don't see a problem. As long as they aren't hateful.
Here's an example of a hateful one. The squirrel getting shot and pissed on, then in big bold letters "illwillpress is a talentless hack". That's a direct attack at the author, see the difference? I don't think attacking the characters of his films is a problem, but a direct attack at the author's username or real name is a different story.
Say if you made a movie insulting the Teletubbies then showed the creator of the teletubbies getting pissed and shit on. The difference between Tom's old Teletubbies parody and the one I describe is that one is just making fun of the show and the characters, but the other is a direct attack on the creator. I'm sure Tom would get more than just a "cease and desist" letter if he made one with a direct attack on the creators of the show.
