let me solve the problem for you guys, USE MOZILLA! Blocks all pop up's and activeX controls, there now you don't need to post here anymore.

That's scary that there's ads with Trojans here again. I haven't noticed anything weird on the site, but I did have adware on my computer recently and I haven't been using KaZaA or going to many sites, so I may have gotten it from here. Creepy. Just stick to banners.

Now everytime I click the e (browser) it goes to my homepage.. then a popup comes up the my internet shuts off, its retarded

I'll try to get the url.. but it will be hard.. because when the popup comesup the toolbar freezes.. I don't even know how I got on right now.

Are you doing something about those ads that hover over everything? Those are annoying trying to dodge something just to vote or watch the movie.

This isn't really a virus, however, it does not allow me to view movies/games when it appears.

another btw, get rid of that aol ad, my computer ALWAYS crashes within 5 minutes of viewing that ad. Every time.

Not until recently did my virus scan pick up a trojan, and since then my pop-up blocker hasn't been stopping a lot of ads. I checked my cookie folder, and though I delete them, they keep returning. I'm not sure if Newgrounds is completely to blame, but the trojan did appear while I was watching a flash, so yeah. If it helps any, the "interactive" ads with the random shoot-em stuff haven't given me any problems to date. I certainly hope you find out the problem!

Acid, try this. When you boot ur pc up, if you run a windows 98 or (possibly) 2004, ctrl alt delete and check what programs are running. If any programs beside Starter, Windows, NProtect, Loadqm, Navapw, rundll32 are there, I'd highly suggest end tasking them unless you know what program it is (ie firewalls, background sound apps, ect)

You can use a website search engine and get SpySweeper or Spybot-search and destroy, they help alot.

Any ads that spawn an app called lucomserver or Auupdate are loading spyware and adware into ur pc. I just got infected with them...(deleting them of course)

Huh. There's only one thing I want to know: How the hell did these popup ads and viruses get on Newgrounds anyway?

...I think sueing would be a good way to solve the popup problem, but why not increase security on Newgrounds while at it?

I downloaded the new spybot search and destroy and it reported blocking the download of 'adaware' or somthing from the main page. This shits gotta get fixed, and soon!

An easy way to eliminate most of the ads( though not all ) is the Mozilla Firefox server. it's free and i only get one ad once in awhile by AOL when i view portal entries.

There was a misleading dialogue a while back, that would open an alert box that said "cannot open newgrounds.com"
if you see this, click the 'x' in the top right corner (of the alert box; be kind, don't close newgrounds), instead of going okay, otherwise you'll probably get screwed or something
