I just can't see a reason to even bother with putting him on trial. It's a waste of tax money, time that could be used for much better things (perhaps the WAR we are in now, for example), and seriously... how much of a better place is the world going to be if he's executed?

How do you know he made propaganda movies? Do you have a source for this?

Yeah, I will find it, it was like in a side bar in the San Francisco Chronicle. He difinately did this. I get back to you on that.

No way. Leaving your buddies who depend on you and going AWOL is cowardly as hell, in wartime or no wartime. Prosecute him to the full extent of the law.
Then shouldn't he be tried for desertion, unless they can actually prove that he aided and comforted the enemy?

Like I said, gimme some time, and I will have the article.

Its right here. Not the San Francisco Chronicle, but good enough. He appeared in propaganda films. There it is, plain as day.

The article says that it's believed that he was coerced..

The one thing force produces is resistance.

Dude, thats what his family is saying. As far as I am concerned, if he deserted to Korea, he made propaganda films also. Its not like its a huge stretch. I aint gonna buy what his family is saying that they "believed" he was coerecd. On what basis may I ask they say this?

They probably know him better than you or I.
