Yes I know Im responding to an old ass comment..... but I have pop up blocker as well yet the ads still showed up, it seems they have found a loophole in the system, well, thats AOL for you, always making simple activities a hassle. Fuck em' all !!!!!

Yea, damn the evil bastards known as AOL.

they are probably flash on a dhtml layer which don't need a javascript to pop open so they aren't actually pop-ups , just windows made in flash and placed in a layer over the top ov the actual html.

haha, cool, i was lucky, didn't even see it once...but...i can't deposit my experience points and its starting to piss me off! whenever i vote on an entry, it says i have to vote 4 more times, no matter how many portal entries i vote on! just wondering whether its related to the thingy or not...

Anyone getting those AOL ads that can get pass Google? Well, it looks like for some dumb reason after closing them I'm unable to click on "Watch Movie". Don't know if you have to let the pop up finish loading, cause I just close those quickly.

its NOT a loophole and its NOT a popup... it was a FLASH BANNER
and FYI, computer loopholes are called "exploits" :P

Zip.ca has somehow attached an add that popsup when you click to watch a flash move (or game)

No big deal, still annoying!

yay, finally gone, those things were buggin me, cudnt play the movies half the time. those add companys shud go to hell...all i got is the stardard xp ad blocker :(

you know, you could just click the x in the top right corner. it is partially hidden by another banner.

I think that tom should have a 400X100 flash where the ads (not pupups) are displayed and have it tween to the left or right so it's "marques" ads from there. You'd have to do something with the non-interactive ads tho.
I wish there were no popups tho, some of them lead to spyware if you're not careful.

Unless the ads make the site unviewable for a god aweful amount of time, don't worry, I'll still be here!

I've seen the ad one or two times, and I'm using Firefox (the browser) I also have a pop up-blocking firewall. Whenever I get the ad, there's a little x in the top corner. Is it different for internet explorer or something?

We don't want ads like this on NG either - the ad company has been notified and it will be gone by the end of today.

i'm not sure if this counts but a pop up for AOL keeps appearing whenever i select a game or a toon.

the window ads are fine put I gardarn hate the javascrpit of flash ads you can close them without carefully selecting X in the top right corner.

Those stupid AOL advertisements are still covering my screen every time i try to access a game or movie. It is really getting quite annoying. Do you by any chance know when they are supposed to be clearing off these stupid annoying advertisements?

I use Mozilla, and have been getting these ads for about a month. They cover up the description of the animation, often times they cover the watch this movie button, they are really obnoxious. I finally installed an IP blocker that blocks the IP addresses of most companies that supply internet advertising, and that solved the problem. Did the company doing this really think making the ads MORE obnoxious would make me pay more attention to them? Foolish.

Actually, I've been suspecting for some time that it's a netscape/mozilla issue, possibly a glitching "pop-up blocker countermeasure"... It detects the popup is blocked, it puts up a flash floater ad instead... But it doesn't behave right. Ah, well. They shot themselves in the foot. I don't see any ads now.

O yea theres another anoying one. That one with the shark and the swimmer, thats anoying, because my cursor disapears when im not moving it. And i have a good computer so thats not it.
