I was out of town over the weekend, and came back to tons of complaints concerning an obstructive ad that made it hard to access anything on the page. We don't want ads like this on NG either - the ad company has been notified and it will be gone by the end of today.

yeah i got that a couple of times
i get it on sites like joecartoon as well
glad to know its fixed though
Ah right, thanks. I wouldn't have minded if we had been warned. But it looked like you didn't know either.
Thanks for explaining.
Sounds great :)
I never saw the "annoying add", and I wonder why, because I don't have any anti-pop up installed and I'm using IE...maybe it's related to the place where you come from...or something...
Yeah, that thing was annoying, even with Mozilla and adblocker, it still manages to get by me even when I try to immunize my browser to it's Iframe. That was soo annoying. Glad they're going to stop. Thanks Tom. :P
Hip hip hurray, Now we can sleep!
I didn't see it, but hurray for tom anyway!
now to get rid of that stupid yellow monster thingy ad ruining my screen...
j/k ; )
Hi well im new to the BBS forum thingy, but i had a question that poped into my head and wouldent go away. Does the Mr.Fulp make money from this site? Sorry i didnt wanna make a new topic just for this question. Sorry if its of topic, but i just wanted to know. Thx!
That's great to hear! I know for me the ad would pop-up in front of the voting boxes and you couldn't get it to close.
Thanks Tom! You all are always making improvements to make this the best site to visit.

*applauds* Thank you Tom :) Now we can finally watch our movies without fear of over-intrusive adverts appearing.
Thx for fixing that, got annoying.
Btw, when is that Halo collection out? I gave you 14 links and a button in your "New Today..." thread.
This should be added to the foamy collection :)
Ok, it's something me and some friend conjured up, and I swear it's hella underrated (trust me on that, under 2.00 with gfx like those...god)

Sanity is grossly overrated and detrimental to the creative process.

Indeed it does, because it's not a pop-up ad. It's just a normal banner...that expands itself.
Did I mention how annoying it made viewing this site? Well, it did.
Anyway Tom, good to hear you're sorting it out. Good work.
It wasn't the pop-ups that were bothering me, but that it seemed that there was no way to get rid of the damned things. However, I found that up in the right corner, there was an X that you could click on that would close the things down. Problem solved. :|
I'm not too sure if I had an encounter with that particular advertisement, but I did manage to catch something malicious from Newgrounds that ended up copying a load of .exe's into my program files. No virus or anything, it just kept spawning popups every 5 minutes whether or not I had a browser running or not. Luckily, I'm running Deepfreeze, so a quick restart deleted all the files and soved my problem pretty quick.
It sure was an intrusive advertisement though!
I hope you're talking about those annoying AOL ads.
I mean... Who here is going to pick up AOL as an ISP, anyway? That company bleeds customers, it doesn't soak them up.
I never saw the ad. I have seen a LOT of AOL ads however. I already have AOL (on my home PC) so itz kinda annoying to see them every 2 seconds. Nice to see that you are on the lookout though. ~ONE~
Good job, I never saw any sign of any of them and I use MSN Explorer (don't laugh), though I heard of several people on Firefox who had the problem described.
