Woah woah woah, you guys are joking, right? Students absultely do not give up their constitutional rights at the door. Yes Judge, I'm very familiar with Surpreme Court decisions concerning what does and doesn't interfere with education; I had to excessively study them last year for scholarships and college credit exams.

Cases that flat out say it are Tinker V. Des Moines Independent Community School District (1969) **Dealing with Free Speech** and Goss V. Lopez (1971) **Dealing with Due Process** Tinker V. Des Moines was a landmark case, as the Surpreme Court agreed that students keep their constitutional rights.

That being said, the only ace in the hole school adminstrations have is to be total dickheads and say that "blank" interferes with the learning process; it's a loophole around students' constitutinal rights, not an exploitation of them not being there.

im not a goth, i just wanna start by saying that, but i think that they are unfairly treated. my school has just got a dress code (no make-up, t-shirts with logos (bands etc...) and all that crap, which has basically spelled death for the goth culture in my school, (which is a shame as i was friends with a few, and now they are more depressed than usual) but anyway as i was saying goths are unfairly treated, notice how this dress code has killed off goths, but not townies (rude-boys, chavs, whatever u wanna call them, you know the assholes who go around thinking they own the place and threatening to knife you if you look at them funny, they also all drive vauxhall novas) townies still run free taunting everyone else, it has also meant the death of skaters, (my group) i htink this is wholly unfair, if my school had banned t-shirts sayig your mum is a bitch and G-unit is bangin (rudeboy lingo), and chains that have massive gold dollar signs on them (aka bling) then this would mean the death of townies, and, of course, a massive outrage, which would probably result in townies skipping more than just 3/4 of their lessons a week (to listen to 50 cent) and probably several teacher deaths.

Dude, they are doing them a favor. Guys wearing makeup is just plain messed up. If God meant for men to wear makeup, he would give us purses. But women have those and we have wallets. And wearing black every day is wierd. Killing goth culture should be a priority for everyone.

a rude boy was someone who in Jamaica (the country where ska originated) were the people who were the um... 'hipsters' of the time. they would be the ones dealing th weed and what not at shows, and would usually wear suits and pork pie hates.

but... when Ska became popular in britain, the possiblilty of the term Rude Boy could have been taken over and changed to whatever and what not.

Who the fuck cares. Goth is a lifestyle (and an architecture style, and the name of a tribe of Germanics) not a way of dressing. I'm a Goth and right now, I have a black polo shirt and blue tracksuit bottoms on. More preppy than Goth. Goth is such an ambiguous term anyway. Most people think it just means people who are "depressed" but I'm not depressed. At this moment in time I'm as happy as fuck.

What really pisses me off about this is once again society is treating a symptom not a cause. Will people start taking responsibility rather than assigning blame? No.
