Personally, I think school uniforms are pretty bogus. I mean, locking children up with armed gaurds, forcing them to wear uniforms, and forcing them to learn dogma is treating them like criminals, not the future rulers of the world. If we treat our children like criminals, they will act like criminals. They need to be given the opportunity to choose appropriate clothing of their own accord; knowing how to present yourself is an important social skill. Only through experience will a child learn the folly of apperance based value, and learn to judge people for their inner value.

No it doesn't. Actions speak louder than words, and words speak loutder than clothes. The point is we should judge people in school by the grades they make, not the clothes they wear.

How about mandatory uniforms for all students with below a B average? Wouldn't that help reinforce the idea that knowlege is rewarded, but the ignorant are never even given a voice?

Its pretty hard to tell.

What ever happened to parents being responsible for their kids? Things such as attire shouldn't be the business of the schools unless it becomes a problem for the other kids. I doubt the kids who waste their time in class picking on goths have much of a chance of learning anyway. Without the goths they'll just turn to the fat kids. If goth kids are getting picked on and it disrupts their learning then they can make the choice to change. That should be an issue between the kids and their concerned parents. Not the schools.

I have been reading the whole post and yes there are some very stupied people posting. Anyway at my school there was a ban on old georgia flags
clothes. It didnt stop people from whearing them it only made more. As for goths some are more posers trying to hard to be gothic. I dated a gothic girl but she was not a so called hard core goth that has everthing black. I am not a goth but I do where black and band shirts and baning it and other harm less clothes is stupied. It about fear that started when the major school shooting happen. Changing how people are to dress cant stop that.

I would have to agree that some do look ugly but that can be said about any group of girls. The goth girl I dated dint put all that shit as you called I wish I had a pic to put up of her and you would see how hot she is.
