you guyes are being stupid, every real "goth" knows that that term shouldnt even exist, its completly stereotyped so it doesnt even really mean anything, "hardcore" goths really dont give a fuck about anything and really dont want that attention that you give them.
its like the KKK when the gov. made a huge deal out of it many people joined it, if no body gave a fuck about what "goths" did, it would probably die down.
most "goths" do it as a fashion statement, everyone likes a chick in fishnets... some shouldnt wear them though... *shudders*
the problem is that people give a fuck about "goths" to much
most are fashion assholes and fakers so everyone should quit shittin bricks about it.

Schools have the power to regulate what is worn.

Schools can only ban clothing that they can prove interferes with the child's learning experience, otherwise it's bullshit. Since I doubt all black clothing is keeping them from learning, any of those kids could have a lawsuit.

Looking at people that wear wierd shit to school definately interferes with my schooling. It freaks me out.
Espically this one person. I was in gym. We had swimming. This fuckin wierdass goth went swimming in a black dress, as a guy. Got out, immedately put his makeup back on. And of course this is San Fran so no one said shit about it cause we are all wierdasses here. Freaked the shit outta everyone. What a wacky ass.

I heard about this recently. As someone who's lived in Kansas since I was 2, I'm surprised there's goths in Kansas at all! At least in Leavenworth the scene's been dead for well over three years... with the exception of the occassional rivethead/grindcore dude, everythings pop-punk and emo! All the goths in the town either left or... well... stopped (one guy even became a biker).
But this isn't anything new... I posted a thing recently about our sister state (whom we share a city with) Missourri. ( http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic.php?id=115702 )
I say "Can't we all just... get along?"

Principal Cherie Crain says black lipstick, eye shadow, nail polish and hair dye are banned, along with all-black clothing. Also
on the list are such accessories as studded metal bracelets and graphic T-shirts advertising heavy metal bands.
--That is her call. My middle school banned all hats, all baggy pants, all raiders paraphenalia, and all red and all blue clothing. They do this curtail gang activity.
Witness the oppression inherent in the system!

haha BOOO RAIDERS. Stupid sellout San Franciscan morons are now raider fans that TO and Garcia left and also any hope of winnig a game this year. I still will never love the Raiders. 49'ers all the way. Banning raiders shit, lol. I see why and I also see they didnt ban 49'ers stuff. Cause no self respecting gang member would ever wear 49'ers stuff. Love em but they are still pretty gay.

Eh, I don't buy it. I can understand prohibiting clothes that are too revealing, but banning black nail polish and black clothes; that's rediculous.
It's disgusting in the sense that the administration is sending out a message that everyone should fit a certain "role" or "model". The administration is being anal, if everyone were to wear white, no one would give a shit.
If all else fails, just save the Goth Chicks; I beg of you.
I must lollerskate on this matter.

Students do not give any of their inherant rights up when they enter school doors.

Apparently you're not familiar with the Supreme Court case deciding in favor of school administrators and their right to protect the learning environment from disruption.

Yes they do, the students aren't guaranteed any constitutional rights in school at all. Not one article of or Amendment to the constitution is guaranteed to be given to students when they enter school. Not one...
Good riddance, the goth kids are one step away from using aingery faic as another generic picture in their livejournal.
excuse me, I have some Edgar Allen Poe to read.

Just once can we have a clampdown on Generation Gap? You know, mandatory prison terms for khakis and the like?

Your blue shirt offends me because it reminds me of the water my father drowned to death in. And the jeans are offensive because I know they were made in sweatshops by starving children.

Clothes in general offend me because they symbolize how the popular culture is draining us of our humanity, all clothes should be abolished 'cause they offend me.

What's sad is that people actually use those kind of pics in their whatever profiles and livejournal.
Or in this casedead journal
In any case, goths have nothing to complain about, if they don't like it they can forsake humanity compltely and just be homeschooled.

Man, what would we ever do without whiny goths? Truely, I tip my hat to them and their uncanny ability to entertain me with their wussyness and other undesirable traits wich make you easily picked on.

Dude...shut up...Poe rocks.
anywho, I just feel like saying that banning the whole clothing and everything is a stupid idea, as well as oppressive. Point is, its more trouble than its worth, and its not gonna stop any negative behavior-if goth style ever did cause any (which is highly doubtful)

You lucky gits should feel lucky your not made to wear uniforms. I do see your points though. We have ridiculous amounts of bannage over here too... no nail varnish, no necklaces, no ear-rings bigger than studs (thats fair enough I s'pose) and you need a special letter to have one ring (has to be of sentimental value). Seriously, this kinda stuff is bull.
