Well it's very hard to say. Since no one can ever know for sure the real truth
The real question is: Is it possible that Jesus might actually HAVE been a gay man? I mean, he was human after all, and we did have sex drives back then...
Just thinkin.
Well if Jesus was a gay man, then with the society today, being gay would be sacred and desegrating it would be uholy. But then again, from the beginning if that happened, gays would be accepted, and our population would probably be around 4-5 billion right now.
Judas was really Jesus's homosexual lover. Thats why they made out. The Romans knew they were dating and exploited this by watching them and then going in for the kill.
Bellum omnium contra omnes
i think we should just leave jesus out of this and wonder why dick cheney hates gays when he has one for a daughter!

Actually, Bush is the one pushing for a federal ban. Cheney believes this should be left to the states to decide.

Jesus Christ wasn't a real person. He is kinda like Santa Claus, or the Tooth Fairy for adults. He was a character in a story to teach moral values to savages, and make them not be dissuaded by thoose who indulge and fuck shit up(hence the "Satan" character"). If you think about it, Christianity is a good idea, a reason to tell stupid people to shut the fuck up.
Since it said in the bible, Jesus wasn't gay, then the character "Jesus Christ" wasn't gay. Whoever wrote the bible made sure of that.
What a foolish question. Please stop trying to raise idiotic questions just to get this "let's all be accepting of gays" mentality on everyone.

prove it.

I'm with him on this one. Chances are, while much of the Bible is probably made up of stories, much of it is based on history as well. Many of today's major religions sprung up because of a key central figure that defined that religion's teachings. We know Buddha existed, and so did Muhammad, so isn't it possible that J.C. existed as well? Admittedly, the Bible probably did exaggerate him somewhat, but that kind of happens when you are the founder of that religion.

the burden of proof lies on you to prove he was real.
The posiblity exists, but all evidnece is circumstantial
if you could give me some non-circumstantial proof, you might have an argument.

No, he isnt. Bush mentioned federal legislation banning gay marraige ONCE. He stated he would support it if it were enacted, he never once said he was pushing for it, nor has he mentioned it ever since.
jesus was real, but he was straight, and he pounded Mary Magelaine like a veal cutlet.

Jesus was a real person. That is historical fact. Many of his miracles have been recorded as well.
I somehow doubt that the son of God was gay. If he was, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't act on those sexual impulses and his teachings would remain the same.
This is not a good reason to hate gay people.

If such a question is too intelligent for you to ponder, by all means never post here again.
why would it matter is jesus was homosexual anyway???
I, myself, am Catholic, and my Church teaches that being a homosexual isn't a sin. Its only sin if you commit homosexual acts.

But for the sake of the argument, put aside your beliefs for a brief second, and think about what would the world be like, how would history had been. Okay, if it is better for you, let's just say that perhaps Paul of Tarsus had clear cut evidence that Jesus was homosexual and that it some how made through the New Testament unedited.
For me, I see two outcomes. One, Christianity would had florished as only one sect, not as several sects (Christian, Catholic, Baptist, etc) and just perhaps, males would had been less frustrated about their sexuality-- less killings, less psycopaths like Ted Bundy, etc. Perhaps women would be more equal to men since they could equally woe women and possibly marrying them. There's so many possibilities. I think other world mythologies would had turned out different. Such an event could had created a Butterfly Effect...
Or perhaps Christianity would had never florished and perhaps most the world would be either Muslim or Jew...

lol, the Koran basically steals everything from Christianity and Judaism

I think that if Jesus was gay, it would be pretty different today. But different in a good way, the first way that you said, where there would be more open-mindedness and less discrimination.
In the Roman Empire of Jesus' time, it was OK to be gay. Even though men and women were not generally equal in status, if you were gay, it was commonplace enough that it was not given a second thought. When the Christian Church was first amassing its followers, after Jesus' death, it was in this same Roman Empire. That's why the Church would still have gotten to be as great as it did: because people were so (comparatively) openminded, the same number of people would have converted to Christianity.
The longterm effects of this? You said it already: less killings, less psychopaths like Ted Bundy, and more equality for women.
If Jesus was gay, it was too bad that they didn't mention it in the New Testament.

And just perhaps Jesus was Gay? It could explain many things. The absence of his father-- he forsakened his gay son. Jesus deep religious spirituality-- he is accepting a different father who won't reject him: God. Jesus friendship with unsavvory people such as prostitutes (Mary Magdelena), tax collectors (Judas Iscariot), Gentiles, unclean people (like fish handlers, as in Peter...)-- he believed people should treat all people equally. This explains why Jesus wanted to reform Jewish religion to be more accepting, and thus a new type of Jewish religon was born: Christianity.
Just perhaps...

just because it was ok for man doesnt mean that it is ok with God. God stated in the bible that he abhorred the act of homosexuality. besides usually openminded people are really closed minded ones who dont like being told they are wrong.

no matter what you do you would have psychopaths and murderers, they would just be killing for different reasons. also equality for women has always been a cultural issue. it has always been up to the culture to determine how many rights a women gets.

if jesus was gay it would violate his claim that he is God. God cannot violate his law or even think about violating it. so since God speaks out about homosexuality he cant be a homosexual.
how about, europe would have had a tiny population because it was taking it up the back door and asia or the middle-east would have conquered the world instead of europe, and all you yanks would have been either cowboys with turbans or cowboys with thos weird chinese teepee hat things ;) oh and scottish people would have had the squeakiest accents out of everyone, seeing as they have the deepest ones now.

That is the most horrible thing I've seen. A two faced response from a chruch fighting to keep its standing.
It's like saying that being a murderer isn't wrong, the act of murderering is... Well being a murderer means you murder people... Being homosexual means you have homosexual relations with people.
If the figure known as Jesus Christ had been gay, there would be no christianism right now. No one would have followed him, he would probably been stoned to death, then risen, then killed again. Thats the way people were and are.

Nope. Wrong. Sorry.

I was under the belief that Islam came from Judaism, not Christianity. But, look at my name, I could be wrong.

Already, while we can't know for sure... Jesus was a 33 year old man who never married, and spent most of his time with other men (who history tells us were very burly and well built fishermen... I bet they were macho!). This uncommon for religious leaders at the time...
But, i don't believe this is true. After all, he did fake his death, move to France, and have kids!
This however... I couldn't resist...
