Ive not been on newgrounds long (let the n00b flaming commence). But while on Newgrounds i have noticed a slight trend, Level 9's are most likely to be arseholes. They are the most agressive users. If you look at n00b threads such as "n00b revolt" you should notice that the bulk of the n00b flaming comes from level 9's.

Ive been trying to figure out why level 9's in particular act like this. I think 1 reason could be the fact that level 9 isnt seen as a high level but level 10 is, and so being at the threshold they are more defensive. Another reason could be that the majority of the arseholes on Newgrounds are level 9 just by coincidence.

Any ideas? (if your level 9 and flame me, you'll simply be reinforcing my point, so feel free to do so)

And of course i'm not saying that all level 9's are arseholes, there are always exceptions.

eh the whole noob thing doesnt bug me. Ive been a lvl 1 for a year, its all about the lolipop picture.

they want recognition, b/c they are almost level 10. and they think level 10 is like when they become accepted on the forums.

this is not the case.

they are just pissed b/c they thought it would be 50 exp for each level up until "OMG i'll be level30 soon!" when really, they needed what is it, 750 exp to get from 9 to 10?

Its not that level 9's are assholes. Its that the people that are assholes (according to you) happen to be at level 9 at the moment.

it is because they think that just because they are level 9 they are cool. although i think you still classify as a n00b until level 10 (with some exceptions). however i do flame n00bs when they do deserve it.

Maybe because everyone loves the glove and there almost there. I love the glove so I don't depoist anymore. "When your shoving and love it dont forget to glove it" You don't see any cool sayings like that for the hand in the brass knuckles glove. Anywho some people will always be assholes to the people who they think are "lesser" then them. To me it doesn't matter if you fancy the lollypop or not, just as long as you don't act like a stupid moron.

It seems there are also more Lvl 9's than any other user im also a very nice user but 'N00b revolt' that made me pissed not at the new users but at 'popeofd0pe' for taking some elses name.

Yes. I think so... because I doubt they will instantly change as soon as they hit 10. They'll still need tons of exp to get to 11, if that's why some people believe they're being assholes. Plus many of the assholes that are level 9 right now are NG freaks that joined a few months ago and already have more than 1,000 posts and some morbidly high B/P rank. They're all trying to reach super high stats, and they just happen to be moronic assholes as well.

They dont bug me particularly, im just curious as to why they are in my opinion such arseholes. In my time on Newgrounds it has been level 9's that have attempted to flame me about 100times more than any other level, but i dont really give a shit. Some of them have their heads so far up their arses they should be able to see how full of shit they are, but sadly they dont.

Level 9's. well you see, it's because level 9 and below are like that all the time, but when they reach level 9 there is a big stop and then they are like that for a long time as level 9 and they don't change level and so that's why level 9's show up more for being bad.

But they're not all bad.

Level 9 is the biggest level (as in more people are level 9 than any other level) because a lot of people stop there and some then just stay there. So even if it had the same proportion of assholes as any other level, it would seem like there are more level 9 assholes. Also, some level 9s (who annoy everyone, not just n00bs) act like they own the place, even when they don't know what the fuck they are doing, because they have been around for a few months now. By the time people reach the higher levels (13+) they know what they are doing and will normally post sensibly.

Then just sit back and laugh at the fact that they look like douchebags. Or you could sign them up for free dog porn. Their both mature decisions. Overall though i will agree with you most of the assholes on NG are lvl 9.

I've been coming here for years and he's never been an asshole to me. I've sent him emails back in the day about the site and he was nice. I don't know what you're talking about. Maybe you spend too much time in the general forum...

Well threads like 'n00b revolt' sometimes deserve flaming anyway, but, I guess it's because they think lvl. 9 is the level where you aren't considered a 'n00b', unfortunately, thats not the case. And all the annoyance of finding out about the massive amount of exp. to get to level 10. I try not to be like that (but I do flame sometimes).

It's not Level 9's it's just people in general. You get flamed for anything and everything around here by pretty much everyone.

most likely you did something to piss them off. like make a dumb topic or posted something stupid or typed like a 5 year old. if you didnt then yes they were being assholes.

90% of the time, no one will come up to and say "Hey you joined x months after me....you n00b." Sometimes people my use it but to me, it's not a valid excuse. People will flame the "n00bs" because they do not seek information before asking for help, i.e; how to submit a flash, rules, etc. Or if they think they are "tough shit" then their open to flames.

That is a very good point. I didnt think to look into the number of level 9s as a whole, that would explain why there are more abusive level 9 posts than other levels.

But i still think there will be a higher percentage of flamers in the level 9 group than in any other level.

well if you get abunch of immiture teens on the internet who get flamed when they are noobs, and then put them in a level 9 they will be as big a jerk as the level 9s were to them when they were noobs.
