Bandwidth Upgrade

The paperwork has been submitted for a bandwidth upgrade - we are stepping up from a 300mbps connection to 400mbps! The site has been running well, so this move is a bit experimental - if anything, Portal submissions should download faster.

We were planning to hold off on our hardware upgrades until mid-September, but we are bumping up the launch of our new file server to this week! The remainder of the upgrades will still take place in September.

The bandwidth upgrade will finalize in the next 48 hours. We want to track a day of results with the new bandwidth and our old file server, before upgrading to the new file server. Hopefully you will see an improvement on your end! I'll post updates as changes are made.

also, on an unrelated note, i was reading MAD magazine when i came across an ad for a 'two issue mini-series' comic that looked pretty cool about a guy named 'harry johnson' who reminds me alot of indiana jones or something. then i looked at top corner, and it said 'fulp fiction presents'. that's your uncle, right?

Yup, that's him! He's really my grandfather's brother's son, so not exactly an uncle - I don't know what to call him. But he's family!

I remember when it went from 200 to 300, and now it's going to 400. Awesome. With faster Portal downloads, people with 56k modems won't have to wait so long for huge Flashes to load.
