hey, iv noticed alot of sterotyping around here, im english and i can tell u i do not have an english accent, hardly any of us do, we dont speak posh either, and we DO NOT have tea at 5!! AND WE DONT HAVE MESSED UP TEETH GODAMIT! apart from that there are loadsa other stereotypes of other countries too!

...this forum probably will end up in an argument but wtf...

did they speak all posh 'n' stuff? have u met more than one person? nah, i beleive you beleive ya. most people who speak posh come from surrey and other places, but put it this way. i live in England and iv only met one person who speaks posh kinda english...

lol I was just about to say that... I've lived in England all my life, and I have an English accent. It's a south-London accent, granted... but still English.

you come from england, therefore you have an english accent. you just don't hear it because you are so used to it. i went to america last week and most of them refused to believe that they had accents, most of them said "we speak normal, you have an english accent" so i guess its the same for everyone. and how can there be a universal english accent? everyone speaks differently (especially up north...*shudder*) more to the point, i DO drink tea. sometimes even at 5 pm. you know stereotypes are usually true right? thats why they exist. why can't we all just get along.

I'm English and it does annoy me on how wrongly we're potrayed on American shows like "The Simpsons" or "Family Guy" but it does have to be said i do drink a lot of tea and around 5 in the evening i tend to have a cup.

Why not let the people stereotype ? You are getting angry because you don't like what someone says, well that's unfortunate and it happens. But people aren't going to stop just because they see you are annoyed, if anything it makes them more eager. Try reinforcing the stereotype.

I'm English and I like our stereotype, it's pretty funny. I don't drink tea but I have quite a well-spoken accent.

dude im english and the stereo type thing is mostly true i know a dude whos teeth is seriously messed up since he was born its naturally yellow and 3 come out horizontal and i know some1one who has tea everyday, not so sure aboutthe accent, its sorta changed into the ones they have in eastenders
