Well I was having a normal talk with my friend. We were talking about nothing big in particular then he turned to me and said "Y'kno who's hot?"

"Yuko Ogura!"
"...who!?"

Then he told me he has a major thing for asians. He told me he found out about this Japanese AV model by searching softcore porn websites primarily for Japanese girls. He tells me he has almost a gig worth of Japanese porn on his harddrive. Naturally a huge aura of awkwardness came surrounded us. He starts to then tell me that he wants to go to Japan so badly because according to him, there are tons of Japanese girls who prefer white men.
"And I'm gonna bag me a hot one!" he says. He thinks he'll become some sex God with his above-Japanese-average penis. It's like guys who go for band girls who are cute. They think they have a better chance with them than the blonde cheerleader captain.

Let me say that this guy is the whitest person imaginable. He even says he has 'British pride' and I feel embarassed for even addressing that. He tops it all off by saying white girls are ugly.

I won't say I feel absolutely "Ok" with this. It shouldn't bug me but it seems too weird for someone to be this engrossed. He's not like you anime/Final Fantasy/Ninja/Samurai/Inuyasha/Spirited Away idiots. This guy is HARDCORE when it comes to Japan. If it was someone like me, it would at least look semi-normal. People would recognize my heritage and say it's ok. I would too.

Before you suggest anything, I'm not trying to set a double standard. I'm not that different from my friend. I admit I like asian girls(that thread was 90% a joke) to an extent. It's not an obsession like my friend's. It's simply a preference.

That being said: Are things like this with my friend normal? Do some people actually fantasize about Japanese girls in kilts on the other side of the world?

I think your friend has another thing coming to him.. My good friend just got back from his trip in taiwan, and he says it's nothing like people make it out to be... There aren't a ton of asian girls wanting white men, and they don't have crazy-ass japanese pornos... I think Americans made asians look like they were crazy sex freaks with all of our weird asian porno in America, but they don't have a ton of weird asian porno in Taiwan.

He also said he went to the ghetto, and it wasn't that bad either.. Some people think they have horrible ghettos and shit. He said it was a giant black market, and everyone was just trying to make money.. Nobody was scared and thought they were going to get robbed.
