It's quite odd. the people who have 'discovered' this take the first 5 books of the old testiment and 'equally space' all of the letters. (this is all done in the original hebrew form) and they find all this crazy stuff.
i just saw this on the history channel, and thought it would be cool to see what you all thought about it. i personally am a little skeptic about it, because of how it seems a lot of it could happen by chance and what not.

I try to follow and disprove alot of stuff like that. I do believe though that the Bible has some validity. The flood is a good example. Alot of the oldest world religions have similar stories. Also, Nostradomus is a good read.

using the same technique doomsday prophecies were found in moby dick, and the mike tyson ear biting incident was supposedly predicted by the microsoft end-user agreement.
i forget the names, but the person who came up with the bible code wrote a book about it, then when challenged by some academic or someone asked them to find a doomsday prophecy in moby dick. they stated that if they could do so, that they would drop the subject. instead they wrote another book about it.
i'll bring up something more specific if i can find the details.

wow, thats odd, people have found another way to extract nonsensical ramblings from the same book that has kept humanity in a haze for the past 2 millenia? wow, the times we live in
Your reply to this isn't going to be clever or witty, so just put down the internet and go outside.

I always take religious predictions very casually. I'll believe the ones that happen!
