A group financed by a major Republican contributor has begun running radio ads in about a dozen cities, many in battleground states, attacking Sen. John F. Kerry (news, bio, voting record) as "rich, white and wishy-washy" and mocking his wife for boasting of her African roots.
...Another ad attacks Teresa Heinz Kerry, who, at the Democratic convention last month cited her birth and upbringing in Mozambique and who has described herself as African American. In the radio commercial, the announcer says: "His wife says she's an African American. While technically true, I don't believe a white woman, raised in Africa, surrounded by servants, qualifies."
-----
I can play this game, too. You can't be American unless you're a rich white man, European unless you're an aristocratic land owner, and you can't be African American unless you're an AIDS infested tribal black man who worships carvings made out of dried mud and clay.
God.

Geez, man. It's hard to take Politics Seriously when the Candidates are constantly attacking each other for pathetic things that dont even matter.
Kerry won three purple hearts, Kerry didn't win three purple hearts. Either one of these MUST be true, but it doesn't matter a jot. Bush has a B.O. problem. Sharpton's black, Cheney smells. WHO GIVES A FUCK!?!?!?!?
*Ahem* Sorry... Thankfully, in the UK the attacks are still on issues, and I'm glad to say that all 3 main parties still attack each other based on statistics. In fact, even UKIP and the BNP manage to do so... Which impresses me.

That is absolutely ridiculous. The Dutch have been South African for over 400 years, and many white people have lived throughout the continent as remnants of the fervent missionary ages. That's like saying there are no black people from Europe.

Or Lesbonia, for that matter.
Why haven't i seen these adds? they sound absolutely hilarious.
none of this could possibly have any bearing on an intelligent person's decision in the coming election, which is exactly why this add exists.

it seems to me a shame that every time i turn on PMQ time, all i see is a bunch of attempts at point scoring, lots of jeering from back benchers, and the occasional bunch of purple powder thrown into the benches.
it looks like my dream job, someone sponsor me to become an MP, i'll represent whatever political affiliation you want, just get me a nice over-paid cushy job.

Bush goes around acting like he's in the middle America mainstream because he has a Southern accent, have you lost all respect for him? The only person in this race from the mainstream is Edwards. He made all his own money in a way considered slimy, what's more American mainstream then that?
P.S. Moto, it was "shove it", I still imagine in her position I would've said the same thing.

Anyone know the story behind the shove it comment?
Also, yes. I lost all respect for Bush (and Kerry) near the start of all this.
Well that really ought to change the world we live in.

Apparantly, after the press conference (or whatever) this one reporter kept asking questions, and in general, being an ass. Heinz-Kerry started to walk away, turned back, asked the man's name. When it was given, she smirked and told him to 'shove it.' The reporter was an editorial writer for a newspaper that has long been against Kerry's politics, and she decided to retaliate in a juvenile fashion.
And that's the story as I read it, at any rate.

Didn't Dick Cheney tell a Democratic Senator to fuck off on the floor of the United States Senate?

I though his doctor warned him from using swear words in the Capitol building.... It isn't good for his heart condition.

The bottom line is that there isn't much of a choice. It's 6-5 and pick em. The candidates spend so much time bashing each other, because that's what this is going to come down, how much you don't like the other candidate.

Yeah, but when Teresa says it, it is doubly disgusting. Because she should be in the kitchen, barefoot and pregnant ^_^
Poor Dick is just your humble political servant, trying to do good in the world.... *whistles innocently*

Eh. The moment Bush went into Iraq and the second Kerry started saying he supported our second amendment I lost it all.

He told Sen. Patrick Leahy to 'Go fuck yourself' when Leahy tried to pose for a photo-op with Cheney. Leahy has attacked Cheney's policies for ages, and then wants to get all buddy buddy for a picture? Cheney stuck to his guns, albeit immaturely.

I guess maturity goes out the window after college... I'm looking forward to that.
