Text in Flash is screwed up

If i try to use the Text tool to type in any font into an object, it comes out as outline Boxes! Can anyone help me fix that? Thanks.

change it to static.

There are few ways to remove the outlined box, but first...make sure your text is almost always static. That is the simplest form of text. Dynamic text can be edited by actionscript. It should be used for preloaders blahblah. Input is where users can input text.

Now if you want to use dynamic but get rid of that box and outline just uncheck the option shown below.

I think his problem might be that the font isn't correctly installed. You may have to use a different font.

No, it's cuz he's using dynamic text, instead of static.

no i believe you're right when you have a font that flash can't read for some reason it will just show squares instead of the text.
