Hmm.....well, that's quite a different perspective than what I thought had happened. I can't say I agree with a club that "just fights", but under controlled circumstances, and with proper state of mind, a sparring club sounds great.

I don't understand why all that happened, though.....I can't see any of your story being "right" unless this guy was a complete and total jerk with no discipline whatsoever, and went over some "line". (I hate jerks too, but still, it's probably hard to express exactly who that guy was over the internet)

.........That said, it's not advisable to injure opponents, even a jerk, in that way, especially when just sparring. >_< I agree with dsmking a few posts back.

Im still curious as to one thing though, do you have to memorize and go through katas as in other martial arts or no, because I have heard different answers from different people.
1) The point of a Kata is to practice a combination or chain of attacks, blocks, and parrys. So the awnser should be yes. I know that I did when I was studying it.
2) the reason the awnser may differ could depend on the level of experience the martial artist holds. Obviouslly a first dan white belt would'nt have to memorise a ten minuit kata.

Katas in Jiu Jitsu? Yes, and no. They are utilised specifically for exercise purposes. Katas are NOT a core element of Jiu Jitsu, unlike with Karate.

Um... let me explain here. Lundi is like me, he fights to fight sometimes. We dont try to be macho, we just like the thrill of a fight. I have been to clubs similar to what he is talking about and im basically the same as him, im just kinda the guy that they get when nobody else wants to handle some upstart. Its not to embaress them its to restore the order of the club and put them in their place.
In fact I think I have only lost two or three fights at any clubs and mabey four total since I was like ten.

BTW for those of you who dont know, Lundi lives in the suburban ghetto (basically the suberbs with gangs... actual gangs), and I grew up an orphan untill I was seven and lived in the ghetto for that time. However now im kinda the same as lundis conditions now. (Mid middle class)

I hate you man. Writing a long ass post like that. But then again i read it.

Hmm doing some matrix shit like that by moving the head. Why even do that. I would just wait for him to punch then put my foot up. It just would have made him angrier and then tripped him as he charged in. I think fighting should be taken more gently. I know a fight is a fight but I dont believe in shoving people's faces into the ground. Just isn't right.

Hmmm... Humiliating an opponent is not fun to me, then again, there are those who have the ability to "get under my skin" in a manner of speaking.

Combining anger with martial arts is recipe for disaster. When most people become angry in a fight, they tend to feel; stronger, faster, and invulnerable. While the truth is that they're just over exerting their body, so endorphins kick in early and they mindlessly waste a lot of valuable energy on useless attacks.

Anyway, I just thought I'd drop in for a bit and say hey.
Thanks everybody for keeping the club alive and well.

Till my next post,
-Semi-Shinro-

Well Carmel, I must say... You were right, I don't regret watching that one bit!

Speaking of ebarasing things that happen in the dojo/dojang...
Here's a little friendly advice for any guy who wears a white karate uniform while at their dojo/dojang. If you run out of underwear/boxers on a practice day, and all you can find is the pair black valentines boxers with red hearts on them which you got from your girlfriend (I pray). Do yourself a favor and; wear dark workout pants, don't wear any underwear at all, or just don't go that day. Trut me, it's not worth the embarasment or humiliation... And yes, these are the words of experience...

I doubt anyone here has topped that at their dojo/dojang.

On another note, why did you call me a S.O.B. about 15 pages back Nole?

... now shinro, you know I cant remember that far back with all of my concussions and all. (hehe, dodged that)

But actually, I remember one time at my Dojo/Dojang I did a stepping side kick, missed my target (a standard 2X4) and took a piece out of the wall (it was some kind of cheap-O cubical type wall) and got my foot stuck. Now notice I said my foot was stuck, well I tried to pull it out by simply stepping backwards with the other foot... it did'nt work, I slipped and fell right on my head with my foot still in the wall.

Yeah, beat that.

Hmm, my most embarassing momment was at this meeting of the whole area of practicioners of this martial arts you see, so we were supposed to sit all in the gym, cover one length and two widths (other length has the audience).
A bit before it begins, almost everyone were sitting and waiting already, except the tiny ones probably..
So my mom comes running to me, sitting and waiting like everybody else, and asking the big students infront of me (it was one line, but I was a bit backwards to them because there were many students) to move a little so she could take a good picture.
Yeah, well that's mine, luckly nothing worse... Not that i'm happy with this.. :)

Most embarrassing moment in martial arts. Got beat for second place in the tournaments by a little chinese guy. Tiny were talkin like 4-7. But his kicks were high and fast. Wow, dubbed him crazy legs after that. But it was cool, we talked about our training and motives after the match. Really nice guy.

Pfft... I still remember what you told me a while back (It must have be a year ago now, lol) ... You said you had to spar a girl that was your age. You 2 had thrown the same kick at the same time and some how you ended up busting your butt on the floor.
Then both of you started to laugh and you couldn't seem to stop. You lost consentration and lost the match. Then you said the girl asked you out, you declined for whatever reason. At the end of that post, you said and I quote, "I shame myself..." end quote. Leth responded to it and insulted you (as usual) and basically said he couldn't believe declined her invitation because, and I quote, "GIRLS + TKD = INSTANT HAWTNESS!!!!!11" end quote. Ring any bells? :p

And to Shin

I'll change my name back when TF is Nr again, and he removes "F@#$ THE BIBLE" from his sig. Nothing is wrong with me, I just have my reasons. Oh, and my membership is up to you, oh fearless leader. Btw, did you ever finish our new site?

1. I'm not changing my name back, because people dont constantlly ask me what -TheFaces- is, unlike NR5714K wich is a record set by Nolan Ryan like back in the 70's.

2. I have been considdering taking that out of my sig for some time now, but without it my sig just is'nt quit as insulting.

3. Mr. B... something, welcome to the club if you are not already a member (im guessing you're not)

So that was your goal, aye..? Well, it definately is an insulting statment. I doubt I could get any of my friends from my dojo to come here if they saw it. Anyways, since you did atleast one thing I asked, i'll go back to being Semi-Shinro.

Yes it was... pluss when I wrote it, I was pissed off at some mormons that were like "live by the bible or you're going to an eternity of pain" (they arn't aloud to say hell, lol)

But yeah sure, I was wanting to write some things about my new car anyways. I bought it after my Chevelle got stolen and wrecked. My brother (a certified mechanic, got his degree last year) apraised the worth at 150,000 bucks. Hehe, screwed over the insurance company.
