Comic-con is exactly what it sounds like. Its a comic convention that is held every year in San Diego. You can get anything there from comics to dvds and even the sword from xena warrior princess.

I think there are a few conventions in vermont around october if you are willing to take a trip there. Anyways I am sure there are plenty of things going on in NY. I mean its friggin New York there has to be something.
