John McCain is becoming senile lately. He has turned into a democratic whore. I think he is a republican in name only.
For example he has criticized the timing of the Sandy Berger incident just like every democrat that was asked about it. What a jackass, if something is good for your political party why would you blast it?

He's campaigning for Bush, yet the republicans don't trust him? Damn.

Perhaps he thinks independently. Just because one is republican or democrate does not mean one has to accept every thinking... some democrates were against gay marriage while some Republicans were for gay marriage.
I for one, who tends to be liberal in thinking, don't accept every single thing that is democrate. No, opinion comes from as much critical thinking I could do before I open my yapper, and usually they tend to be liberal in nature.
The Sandy scandal is so minor compared to the importance of the 9-11 report... we don't even know what kind of documents he "accidently" threw away... just implications of what might have been "accidently" thrown/stashed away...
Don't be so uptight... The guy is voting for Bush and supporting him...

Considering what Bush did to him in the 2000 primaries, I can't blame him.
Besides, what's wrong with a little independent thought now and then. I can't stand zombies who follow the party line on each and every issue.

John McCain is a republican tride and true. Its just that he's not a robot and can form his own opinions. Just because he doesn't agree with everything that the republican mainstream has to say doesn't make him a democrat.

Yes but I think you have to agree with at least 50% of the majority of the party to be a member. I.e.
Guns
Homosexual marriages
Foriegn policy
General party lines etc.
If he wants to be an Independent then, drop the Republican moniker.

Even if he does fall below that threshold and he's cashing in on his war record to deviate from the party line, it's really up to the Arizona Republican party to kick him out .
Besides, he's hardly a "maverick". The American Conservative Union gives the guy a 84% conservative voting record. Hell, Arlen Spector has a 47% voting record, Olympia Snowe & Susan Collins of Maine have a 51 & 56% rating, while guys like Pat Roberts and Rick Santorum score 87% lifetime ratings. A few sound bites don't constitute a betrayal. Lay off the guy.

Ok good point, all I really know for sure is his betrayl of party lines on guns. A few vote on some very questionable laws and I loose respect for him.
