im writing this post because today i noticed that i am no longer aloud to review movies. At first i didnt really care but than it started to bother. Now before i continue id like to say that i am aware of the waiver thing i signed when i first jioned the site, and i know what the rules are, im not trying to whine. But mybe the rules should be changed. I dont see why people who have to watch a movie they dont like are not able to say so in their review to the extent that the beautiful english language allows them. Not trying to justify anyhting im only using myself cause its the only case i know the details to, but i know ive never single out a sect of people, ie some sort of antisemitic reveiw, not have i threatened anyone in a review so i assume that the reason that i am not allowed to review is that i must have seen a couple of particularly bad movies and decided to go off on them. But isnt that the beauty of a review system? To get the good, bad, and ugly? I, myself, have five movies none of which are superb front page material and therefore i get many bad reviews...well not too many. I actually enjoy seeing them and getting the last word with my response, its kinda fun. And as long as noones being racist are physically threatening anyone wheres the harm? If anything a reveiw like "you suck and so do your drawings", makes the reveiwer look ignorant and not progressive. I just think that the review regulations might need to be a little more lenient. There is nothing ive seen in a review that isnt equally or more so offensive then the movies on this site, thank you pube muppets. Its just soime food for thought. BTW if this seems like an off base ramble, it is three o clock in the morning in the greater jackson mi area

1: Try emailing the MODs.
2: Noone makes you watch anything, if you don't like it, say so, but do so in a professional way.
3: Get over it. So what, you can't review movies. I think watching what anyone is a privelage not a right. These people were kind enough to share creativity with us. I myself think several ones are bad but could I do better? No.
4: You might want to list what you said, and why you said them, along with why you think you were blocked.
5. Get some sleep.

Well, what rule do you think you broke?
It is hard to tell if a rule should exist without knowing what it is. The MODS here at NG are usually pretty smart people. I think they would have taken time and effort in making up the rules. Not being a suck up it justs sounds like you are saying that someone like Shrike is sitting there and saying:
"Rule 9-b shall be anyone who uses the term cheese-poofter say be banned"
It would'nt make any sense and from reading the MODS posts, things like that would'nt happen... Funny but doubtful.

no im not saying that. honestly im one of those people who say the read something when they didnt. I assume theres a rule against like general "unprofessionalism", and i probably told somebody theyre movie was a peice or something when the fancy hit me. Thats probably a rule, but should it be? I mean would it be so bad if people were aloud to truely say what they want? i dont think so. I didnt post this to have people go "youre right you should be able to review again." i posted it so they go "maybe different rules would be better." some may argue with lenient laws cause poeples feelings might get hurt or theyll be offended, but if you really care what some drunk in, say, topeka, says about youre movie you need some serious reassurance.

Unprofessionalism...
I think we should all be at least curtious sp* even if we fail to agree with someone.
I think that, if I were to say:
Duuuuuude... you're movie totally sucked and you shoud be like shot in the back of the head. You're such a moron for writing it, you're mom should have had an abortion!
Is wrong and unproffesional. Could you post some examples of your reviews as I am too lazy to look them up?

no i cant noone can see them now. doesnt matter. i think that a review like that is unprofessional, and therefore not deserving much respect, but i dont know if a person who writes those reviews should be disallowed to write them anymore, thats the question im trying to provoke.

to anyone who cares... i looked over some of the rules and i think i violated the one about not responding to other reviews in reviews...i think this one dude had a movie and he was all like wheres your movies, so i went and reviewed another movie but instead of reviewing the movie i just told him where my movies were....and thats wrong...i guess...so mystery solved, hope im just not allowed to review and dont lose my movies.

The rule is there so that people dont write reviews like this:
"OMG the was fucking shit, you should be shot in the head you stupid fag!"
If you don't like a movie, you can express that in other, more proffesional ways. If you say "You suck" than the author isn't exactly going to think of you as the epitome of intelligence.
If you use constructive critisism, people are more likely to listen to you. duh.

not to bitch or anything but the do the mods care when people review a blammed movie? One of my blammed movies got this on the review, "You suck at drawing, you suck at animating, you suck at singing, you suck at play guitar, you suck, i hate you" is that not worthy of ban? just curious, cause you claim the ng mods do their job, and if censorship is a problem here,(not that the review in anyway affected me, it didnt hurt me or anything) i think that guy should have been banned if professionalism is a key target here...

Of course. That would (probably) be abannable offence. If I were a review mod, I'd ban someone for that.

The only reason why I could see you being banned from reviewing movies is that you've abused it by not following rules such as being rude, using bad language, saying naughty things to the arthur instead of the flash...
If you've done any of the things in the past... good. Listen to the rules. But if you haven't done anything bad, go talk to the mods.
