I finaly found a free alternative to Macromedia flash. Spread the word!

(Limitations: NO actionscript 5, so no games...)

It can import and export SWF, and if you really want to make games you can buy it (or get flash).

Hey, this is free, what do you expect?

It is a great thing for new users, or people who do not need the full potential of flash mx (less functions also means less stuff you can have problems with) :-)

Its still better then Piracy, plus you can either save up for the regular version or for Flash MX 2004.

True. I really think it is great for people who want to take a look at animation, and if they decide they have talent and can cook up some nice cartoons and games, they can either get Flash or the full version of liveswif.

So, is anyone using this program? Does it do decent work? The lack of preloader ability sucks, but since I don't really know Actionscript, that won't hinder me to much, is the actual animation ability up to par?

yeh thatsa BIG draw back...but this is probly a great starter program...but it might lead to an ambush of poor movies...

You cant use buttons, its just a better trial to keep people from cracking the full version I guess.
But still, I am happy I found it, so i can make cartoons with my students without having to buy software.

i found a better one. it says you cant save but you can. just go into file and click the export movie tab and select As SWF (Flash Movie.)
