He's missed so many votes because he's been campaigning, not because he's been loafing around on his Texas ranch.
Bush has the same track-record for his entire presidency.
The one thing force produces is resistance.

For my opinion, read Skunk's post.

The Drudge Report, a Conservative's wet dream news source. Drudge neglects to mention that most of those pictures are from the same vacation that Kerry took, a vacation that was planned at the exact time President George W. Bush was scheduled to take a two week long vacation. And if you'd like to argue about laziness, Congress has decided to skip their month long August vacation in favor of working on legislation to protect the United States from terrorism, thanks to the ideas provided by the 9/11 Commission Final Report. No such luck for Dubya - he as of yet has no plans to suspend his month-long August vacation to Crawford, where he will "clear brush around the forest and take Barney fishing for some dinner."
Have a nice rest, Mr. President, you've only taken off over 350 days of your term thus far. Why not add another 31 to it?

OOh, almost a whole quarter of his term gone. Nice one. Why couldn't he just not have been there for ALL 4 quarters?
Actually, you gotta admit, only turning up to 20% of all Senate votes is kinda poor...

Oh, don't get me wrong, I do not like John Kerry. I have had to bend over backwards to find common ground with him, and he is really trying my patience with all of his missteps and mistakes. However, no one gets on the Republican side of the Congress. www.vis.org is a great website for researching missed votes and Congressional information, even if it costs $4 a year. I suggest as many people as possible get memberships to that website.

The thing is, Bush has set records with his abscences from Washington. During the first 8 months of his presidency (Jan 20 -Sept 11) he was outside of Washington 42% of the time. That is a record.
And added on to that, he has used AF1 for political purposes at least a hundred more times in 4 years than Clinton did in 8 years.
At least Kerry has proven himself to be a leader. Bush hasn't.

Pfffft. Please. The only things Kerry has led is the Massachusetts Senate, a Vietnam gunboat, and maybe a Senate committee here and there. He's an executive branch n00b.
You could say that he has shown that he has leadership skills, but to argue that he has already "proven" himself to be a leader is just campaign rhetoric.

You are only proven a leader by the word of the people. We haven't had a true leader, one that the people could rally behind, since Franklin Roosevelt and, to a lesser extent, Eisenhower, a man I have great respect for.

Kerry has missed more than 80% of Senate votes this year, the AP reports.

I do, because he is not doing the job he was elected to do. He is putting personal gain over the job he was chosen to do, much like many people complain George W. Bush is doing.

Yes, but not because he's taking long lasting vacations, but because he's campaining for president. And everytime he votes, the republicans just twist it to use it against him anyway.

I hope you people realize how many of those pics aren't real. The snowboarding one, the hocky one, and both of the ones where he's on the water are obviously his head edited onto other pics. Not saying he doesn't play sports, just pointing out that those particular pictures are fake.

The snowboarding is real - he made a big event out of his trip to Aspen to do that, and the Hockey was a press photo op that a friend of mine from the Indiana Democratic Party tagged along to see on an internship with the Kerry Campaign. They are legitimate photos.

You know, all this does is make me like Kerry.
I originally had him pinned as another do-nothing who had no contact with the real world.
Any man who can be as 'active' as he has been in participating in America's great outdoors will be a lot more apt to protect it.
Man I never knew he could kitesail. Radical.
Bush on the other hand participates in canned hunts and is afraid of horses.

Yes that's right: Kerry served in Vietnam. Unlike Bush who was "defending" his country by flying around over Texas, away from all the action.

Unfortunately both of those are true. Some people vote onpy because of a party affiliation which in my opinion is a stupid thing to do. Its my belief that you should vote on who you believe can do the better job, and their opinions on the issues that matter most to you, not just an afiliation.
and other people hate bush just because he was elected and was not who they wanted.
Arguably a majority of the people of the United States did not want him as President.
would you like Al Gore to be president he cheated on the votes but still lost.
I was unaware that Vice President Gore cheated on the election. Could you show some sources just for my personal enjoyment?
and can anyone tell me what bush did to make people call him satan and hate him so much.
1 - A lot of vataction <over a year of vacation in 4 years after this August vacation of his>.
2 - Invading Iraq under false pretenses of WMDs and Iraq being a credible imminent threat to the US which I doubt he was even a threat to Kuwait at the time of the invasion.
3 - His handling of Iraq post war and his seemingly not having any real post war plans prior to the invasion.
And there are other reasons that people dont like him, such as being totally against gay marriages to the point where he would like to ammend the constition to prevent it, cutting of Veteran's benefits, some people blame 9-11 on him and/or even believe that he was involved in a conspiracy on it, his flip flopping on issues, his very strict regulations on stem cell research which has vast possibilities, him singleing out the US with going against the UN's wishes, his black and white views as either you're with us or you're against us, his labeling of the "axis of evil", and the list can go on and on.
So there are a lot of reasons a lot of people cannot stand President Bush.

unfortunately i cant give any sources, but i saw it on tv during around the time of the election. they were saying on tv that he wouldnt count the military votes. i think that what my dad said a few weeks back was that the military votes were late to come in so he didnt count them for bush. But ill look for some sources for this for you to see but i might not find any.
