Okay normally I do not put my two cents in on any given subject, politics not withstanding; I am more of an obsever. However I do have one thing that I would like to get a answer for and pose a question for thought:
(1) God gave us all free will yet we all try to control one another. Why? (NOTE: I know full well that if we see some thing truly wrong i.e.: a rape, murder, child beating, attempted suicide etc. we would be negligent in not trying to stop that person. My question as to WHY was more in the direction of more secular issues.

because it is human survival instinct. If we control people or animals, they are less likely to kill us or eat us, or detract from our food.

Because people are sheep and the smartest and most powerful among us lead the sheep.

Not that I'm claiming to be a shepard or anything.

If the whole theological thing is true, which I doubt, then God gave us free will, yet he also gave us the ability to be lazy and lackadaisical(sp?). So for many of us, we have to choose between the desire for independent thought and movement and our own laziness.

He gave US free will, and we try to control OTHER PEOPLE. Simple. For power. Also, for safety. I'd be a bit insecure if dangerous people weren't controlled, if you get what I mean.

Part of the answer is in your question:
:: (NOTE: I know full well that if we see some thing truly wrong i.e. a rape, murder, child beating, attempted suicide etc. we would be negligent in not trying to stop that person.

Who decides what is truly right. Obviously the bible doesn't cover everything that should and shouldn't be a law.

Maybe we should try looking into ourselves more and stop trying to look into other people and tell them what is right and wrong when things concern only themselves.

That's a good thought really. Kinda like just cause you like to be a certain way or have a belief doesn't justify forcing the same on the others around you

Its simple really, its not so much that we try to control as eachother as it is people are sheep. We don't want to be controlled yet we willingly and with full knowledge vote and choose individuals to make our decissions for us.

The few that refuse to conform to that crap are the "wolves" of society and wind becoming, say in the US, Private citizens. Ultimately all of our laws and shit are simply guoide lines. It doesn't matter that we don't like the idea of mom and son fucking eachother but if they really wanna do it then they will regardless of what we have to say about the subject.

Laws don't reduce free will simply try to direct it.

BTW, "a stitch in time, saves nine" means that doing something to fix a problem now can save you the trouble of fixing it later when it's worse.

Now, onto the topic:

People seek control over others because we are all intrinsically greedy. We take what we can get, and if we can get power over others, we take it. It's not that complex if you understand the basic depravity of man.

mankind has always had a leader due to mankinds inablility to think independantly. in other words mankind seeks out to be controlled to avoid chaos.

Ones the cheif, many are indians. Some people have just leader ship qualities that make them stand apart. Alot of people jsut arent independant thinkers, so go along with what is being spoon fed them. I like to think myself the one who feeds them the spoons ^_^

I think local governments would work ALOT better except for in times of war and resource shortages and emergencies.

Maybe one where they left you alone, and you left them alone, until someone was attacked, a threat arose or something like famine broke out. A very LOOSE "republic"...
