Mortis chuckles to himself from the nervous expressions and from the obvious gap around them. L: "Mortis, we may stay after our presentation... to see the outcome of the events tonight"
M: *grunt* I'm surprised we even came.
L: We must ensure that Jovia's citizens are protected, we need whatever aid we can receive tonight.
*Mortis' attention is turned away by a small man in a lab coat. And stares intentionally, baring his teeth just enough to make them noticeable.*
It's been a while... I play somewhere else now.
*Farlander heads back down to the balcony overlooking the party. He recognises Cromwell, and the Jovian lizards. After ordering a few security patrols around he heads down to the dining area, coming up to Cromwell's table*
Ah, I do believe we met earlier on today.
*He gives a respectful nod*
Captain Farlander. I apologise for the inconvenience earlier on, but these things are necessarry at present. Now if you will excuse me...
*He motions Zanzibar to follow him into a quiet corner*
I hear you want to speak with me. Now, I am a very busy man, and I know the guest list well enough to know that you and your uncouth friend were not invited. Make your explanation quick, before I have you arrested.
Failgrounds.
*LeChuck walks up to the lizards sitting at their table with a grin on his face. He stops just at the edge and extends his hand in greeting*
"Ahoy mates, the names LeChuck. Who might you be?"

"I appologize for the inconvience, but we need clearance to get access the to the lower levels. We have buisness to attend to, and do not wish to cause any trouble, but if we don't get the legal clearance we will have to go about getting there our own way. If you could grant us clearance I shall excuse myself as well as my accomplice and you can continue your meeting as planned." Zanzibar stood straight. He didn't speak threateningly, but instead with a voice of authority and clarity. He did hope not to have to engage in any actions that would be against the treaties between him and the powers here.

You can start by getting out, if you wanted clearance you should have gone through the regular procedures. However... In this "special" case I may be willing to grant you some freedom to move through the undercity.
Give me a contact frequency and I will see what can be done.
I'm not making any promises mind, so dont push your luck.

"Here, you can contact us through this. Thank you for your time." Zanzibar smiled as he handed over a small piece of paper with frequency codes. "LeChuck, We're leaving." LeChuck looked back over, obviously perturbed that he didn't have a chance to speak with the lizards. Zanzibar walked to the exit, bowed to the ambassedors and left.

"Well, it was nice to meet ya, mates. Perhaps some other time I might be gettin' yer names as well. Goodbye"
*LeChuck ran after Zanzibar, his gut jiggling and cutlass bouncing in his sash. He caught up with Zanzibar as the doors were shut behind them*
"Zanz, what did ye say to him? What's goin' on? Are we getting me a crew to kil--I mean, ship inta shape? oh please Zanz, tell me we're gettin a crew."

*As the two pirates leave through the grand entrance hall the exits seal with huge blast doors, rows of enforcers clad in their black armour and armed with riot weaponary step out from either side of the hall. Farlander appears at the top of the stairs*
You dont seriously think I would agree to the demands of some filthy pirate do you? Oh yes, I know who you are Zanzibar, LeChuck.
*He shakes his head, walking down the stairs*
You walk into the biggest posiible gathering of government officials you can find and ask the chief of security for a favour?
You are without a doubt, the worst pirate I have ever met.

"I see...so that's whatcha were talkin' bout"
*He turned back to Farlander with a grin*
"Listen. I don't know ye, and I can say I'm proud of it. But I don't 'preciate gov'ment jerks like yerself standin' inbetween me an' mah way out."
*LeChuck turned to face one of the riot gear men, hocked up a giant loogie, and spit in the mans mask. His plastic face guard was covered in green slime, and it slowly began to eat away at the plastic. The man cursed and quickly removed his helmet. LeChuck laughed*
"Get these pansies outta me way before I have to waste my time on them. I don't like killin' innocent babies"

"You made a great mistake young one... We didn't barge into for a pass because we needed to... We are easily capable of taking care of ourselves." Zanzibar turned around slowly. As he breathed in and out smoke started billowing out of his mouth. When the area finnally became smokey he looked up right at the newly unmasked soldier. "We came to you to avoid having to kill your men... and now that you have antagonized us we are released from the contract with your planet. Self-defence is permited in our treaties. You can't take us, your 100 years too young."
LeChuck unslung his sword and smiled. Zanzibar then started walking slowly up the stairs. When he was within five feet of the unmasked guard. The soldier raised his gun and pointed it at Zanzibar. Zanzibar shot him a glanse and the man's limbs shot out in all directions. He stayed still in midair as if suspended on a rack. He let out a sharp scream of pain as his shoulders were dislocated. The other guards looked amongst themselves as they tried to understand what was holding the man. Even the Psy-Ops didn't have Telekenisis of this kind.
Zanzibar's eye glowed black as he stared at Farlander. "If you value your men's lives, if you value your guests lives, if you value your life... I would advise you turn around and let us go on our way." Zanzibar took out a cigar and lit it. A evil grin crossed his face.
*LeChuck stood still for a moment with his blade unslung*
"I can't take it, someone's dyin'!"
*LeChuck vanished into the floor. Moments later his cutlass appeared out of this air, and the man closest to the one suspended fell forward, but his head remained balanced on the cutlass. A scratchy voice could be heard laughing in the air*
*LeChuck reappeared next to the headless corpse. He reached down and ripped the body armor off the man, then removed his shirt and used it as a rag to clean his sword. He then reached down and lifted the man by his hair between his thumb and index finger. He threw the body at the other guards, knocking over 3. He shook his head and sighed as he wiped his blade clean, then threw the bloody rag at the other men*
"Farlander, my companion is far more cordial than I. If it t'were up to me, you and your men would be dead already. Your silly little blast doors can't do much against me, lad."
*LeChuck reached up and popped his head off, and proceeded to toss it from hand to hand. As it was being tossed he spoke*
"I'm not exactly the kind to use doors"
*He tossed his head in the air and caught it on his neck. He looked at Farlander with his one eye as he spat*
"Now get the fuck out of my way"

Ohoho, take a look at my face lad. You think I aged this much for no reason? Any immortal should be able to tell you that.

You know, you give yourselves far too much credit. An immortal is not such a threat to others as it once was.

"True, true....ya might possibly be puttin' a damper on me mates magic. An' that whole part about being an immortal may be true....but I ain't no immortal. Im undead, mate!"
*LeChuck laughed as he quickly planted his feet and rocketed forward towards the blast shield. The man aimed their weapons and prepared to open fire. As LeChuck seemed about to impact he went right through the shiled. The men on the other side were confused, and looked around, not knowing from what to expect.*
*Suddenly that side of the shield became filled with screams of death and bones breaking. After merely 30 seconds the sounds stopped. It was silent. Moments later the sound of wrenching metal was heard as a sizeable portion of the blast door was ripped out of the wall. LeChuck picked it up and heaved it at the other men, crushing 10-12. LeChuck stood laughing as he stood amongst mangled bodies, covered in blood*
"Ya must be jokin'. This ain't magic and I ain't immortal. Been around a long time an' I haven't met a man who could use his magic on me. Me flesh aint alive and neither is me brain."
*LeChuck walked towards Zanzibar as he stood smoking his cigar. Farlander hadn't moved. LeChuck snorted*
"You've learned yer lesson fer today. Try not to piss me off next time. Er else I'll be comin' fer you an everyone ye know. Watch yer back. Farlander. Ye made an enemy today"
*LeChuck laughed as he clapped his hand on Zanzibar's shoulder and sent them both sinking through the floor, disappearing. As the smoke cleared the troops were astonished. Never before had they seen something such as they had just witnessed.*

I should have guessed.
*He deactivates the security*
Someone get a medic and heal those men, and make sure you clean this place up before the guests start leaving. Dont worry about those two, as soon as they try to access the undercity we will be informed, even if they somehow obtain clearance, any enforcer would recognise them.

As Mattox sat patiently, he noticed some commotion outside the state building.
Guards all stepped towards the front doors and stood outside them. Mattox found it odd that they were guarding what was coming out and not what could be coming in. Mattox knew something was happening inside.
These guards seemed more equiped then the ones that had threatened Mattox earlier. Mattox was unsure of what his actions should be. He pondered whether is would be smart to make a move then while the guards faced the doors and not the streets, or whether he should continue to wait it out.
As patient as Mattox was, he was sick of waiting. The day was ageing, as was he.
Lifting himself to his feet he brushed off his jacket and slowly walked towards the state building. His impeccable sight kept close tabs on the events of the guards outside.
Considering he had nothing really to live for, Mattox was generally a rash and risky decision maker. Death never scared him, yet, his life had never been threatened; that he could remember.
A slight dizzyness washed over him as a few flashing images posed before his mind's eye. The places and people all seemed unfamilier. Though he was used to these encounters, it sadned him. All these little memories, but nothing to remember.
As Mattox closened to the building, he slowed in pace. He did not want to be seen, for there were many of them and one fo him. He gaged whether he should wait a little while longer for the right moment. He knew his chances were slim if he struck then, but then again, he always loved a challenge.
Knowing he hadn't a death wish he walked towards the side of the building looking for another entrance. One floor up a window was slightly ajar. It was high, but not too high.
One thing that always puzzled Mattox was his abilities to see farther, jump higher, and move faster then any normal human. He knew he was different, but he was unsure of whether it was something he should worry about.
With that slight thought, he shook his head and took a short run before jumping and grabbing the window's ledge. Pullign himself up and squeezing in, he could already hear an argument in the brewing most likely coming from the main foyer.
The office he snuck into had a large mahogany dresser and a place to hang some well-pressed clothes. Mattox knew he would not fit in the party the way he was dressed, so he decided to borrow a few peices of clothing.
He put on a nice white shirt, black blazer jacket, a tie and a pair of dress slacks. Although he was not as well dressed as some of those who had entered earlier, he was defiently formal and young enough to pass through barely noticed.
He stuffed his clothes inside a leather lawyer-type bag. He carried the bag with him as he took a peek outside the room and proceeded down the hallway.
When he turned one corner, he saw the man from the window partway down the stairs staring back at two men who seemed to be pirates.
The area under the stairs was very much dark and shadowed and Mattox knew it would be risky to just walk down the stairs unruly. So he waited for a moment when all were distracted and jumped over the railing quietly. In the air, on his way down, he grabbed the ledge and then genlty dropped himself into the shadowed area under the staircase. He stepped out unnoticed and blended into the crowd that seemed to be watching the events of the pirates.
*Abner's face lightens up as he sees the bottle of wine. Getting out two glasses from a cupboard and pours them both a glass of the wine. He then finishes the artificial deer steak and gets out the steak sauce.* Here ya go old buddy.*Abner then sits down turning on the T.V. which was just visible from the kitchen. On the T.V. was the enforcers and the pirates. Almost directly in front of the screen stood Farlander.* Hmph, I remember that guy back when i served. He was good. Real good. Sometimes i even think a little too good but what can you do.*As the fighting ended he continued to watch the other events.*
After the pirates left, he quietly and quickly followed the small crowd back to the party, still keeping his eyes on the man the pirates called, 'Farlander'.
One guard seemed to notice something suspicious about Mattox, but Mattox dissappeared into the crowd.
The lights dimmed and Mattox lost sight of Farlander, though Mattox was intrigued to see what all this was about. All the most powerful ambassadors under one roof.
Mattox grabbed himself something to drink and moved throughout the crowd avoiding as much attention and chit chat as possible. For some reason, some people thought they knew who he was. Some tried to pretend that his name had slipped their mind and that it had been a pleasure to see him again. Mattox just smiled and continued on his way.
Although a presentation did begin and the spectators did not appreciate Mattox's movement, Mattox continued to re-find the man he might have once known.
Church slowly makes his way up from the lower city. He had spent the last several hours climing through sewers and service tunnels, but fiannly reaches the upper city. "Bout damn time I got out of that hell hole."
Church cilmbs out from the sewer he was in, out into a allyway of the uppercity, and cassually strolls out onto the street. "I wonder what I am going to do now............ doesn't seem like there is much work to be done now adays."
As Church walks down the street he hears a whisper behind him. "Hey, listen up.......... you listening to me? I gotta talk to you." Church ignores the voice, beliving it to be some bum who crawled his way up from the lower city. He continues walking and the voice stops.
*Cromwell was watching the room, waiting for the Jovian Lizards to begin and finish their presentation. He noticed that one of his assistants had become rather nervous.*
Cromwell: "What are you doing? Stay focused. Our presentation, remember?"
Assistant 2: "It's one of those lizards, he just won't stop staring at me. He's showing his teeth!"
*Cromwell looks at Mortis with little interest and turns his attention back to his assistant again.*
Cromwell: "He's not going to kill you. Calm down and focus on our presentation. Just ignore him. You've seen worse things in the labs than those lizards."
*Now the blast doors have attracted Cromwell's attention, but nothing of interest taking place in front of them and unaware of the events that took place behind them, he quickly lost interest in these. Instead, another man who had just jumped over a railing into a room attracted his attention. After having followed him with his eyes for a short while, Cromwell once again turned back to his documents and waited for the Jovian Lizards to begin.*

I have had just about as many interruptions as I want this evening. So, who are you and what are you doing here?
Failgrounds.
*Mattox noticed Farlander far off in the distance, he seemed to be in a deep discussion with someone who probably was very important.
Mattox did not want to approach Farlander, but maybe would somehow get Farlander to notice him. Mattox watched as the presentations snailed by.
Mattox felt that he was yet to be unnoticed, however, one woman looked at him curiously. Mattox ignored her and tried to look interested in the long boring presentations.
The lizards seemed preoccupied with themselves as one continued to try and influence or intimidate a doctor or scientist of some sort.
Mattox noticed that there were three similar dressed scientist-looking men all togethor. One of them made a glance in Mattox's direction. Mattox felt he knew the man. The facial fatures of the scientist somehow seemed familier.
Mattox found it odd to find two people he thought he recognized in the same place at the same time, when he had never recgnized anyone else before in his life.
Mattox sat back in a chair obvserving those who seemed to carry the attention of the spectators. Mattox was unsure of how to approach eitherof these two men. Mattox thought maybe he was losing it. However, in Mattox's mind, he never had it. Mattox was not even sure of his age let alone his past acquintences.
Mattox only hoped that this wasn't his mind playing tricks on him... false hopes can be heart breaking.
It was then that the woman was eyeing him sat down beside him, "Hiya, i'm Sara." She put out her hand as a common welcoming gesture.
"Hi... names Mat."
The young girl seemed barely twenty. However, she was pleasing to the eye.
"So who's daughter are you?" Mattox smiled as he spoke trying to hold in his dry subtle humour.
"Excuse me?" She smiled and paused, "that one."
As she pointed, Mattox's eyes traveled towards a very well dressed man seated on the farther side of the room.
"Ahh, Drapier," Mattox spoke softly. Mattox knew him, he was one of the prime realistate owners of the north and was very much into politics.
"Sorry?" she asked.
"Nothing... just thinking aloud."
Their conversation continued until Mattox needed to excuse himself for a drink. He offered her one, but she opted not to.
Mattox walked over and helped himself to something to drink. He stood and peered out over the spectators as he sipped his cool refreshment.
He kept his eyes on Farlander and the scientist as well as the young broad.

"I am from the north," the facial expression on Mattox is questioning.
