It's close, but I think you've taken it. I'll blame it on the fact of 2 rest days for my Yankees (not to be confused with Bankees :P), Damon, Matsui, Giambi and Jeter.
When Giambi got his bat out against the Os, he really left them reeling last night. 5RBIs, 2 HRs

Hot stuff.
Curse you, you beat me to the punch. But yeah, it was a monster shot and if you haven't seen it check it out:
496ft. Straightaway dead center.

Dbl post woes, link didn't work.2nd try at Howad blast.
And if this one fails as well, tough noogies I guess. And if so, and you run across this post -Gooch-, plz do me a favor and delete this post, as it would be completely unnecessary and just a waste of space.

But if anyone's watching the Houston-Dodgers game, Andy Pettitte has a no-hitter going through 6. Lowe has a 2 hitter going, with the only hits in the game coming from Brad Ausmus. But still, the Dodgers are down 1-0.
hehe, J.D. Drew just broke up the no-with a home run to tie the game at 1. But to be fair it just barely skipped over the onto the first row, but it was hit went to far for the outfielder to make the play. Good stuff.
Whooo! Nomar Garciapparra just hit a grand slam off of Brad Lidge to put the Dodgers up 5-2 in the ninth inning! That was amazing, 2-2 count, fastball right down the middle and he blasts it. Though, I guess you just have to wait until the fat lady sings as Houston gets their side of the inning next.
yes I realize I posted three times in a row.
Its good to see Nomar coming through in the clutch people seem to forget that not to long ago he was one of the best hitters in baseball.

He is one of my favorite players. Anyways A's won today making them 9-11. Swisher hit another homerun. Thats 3 straight days with a homerun. Chavez also hit another homerun too. Zito starts tomorrow, we need a good game out of him just like Blanton

Blanton swallowed 8 hits though...any pitcher who only gave up 2 runs after giving up 8 hits is lucky. However, you guys still did not do well offensively despite winning today. In fact, the A's have not scored more than 5 runs since they beat Seattle in the series closing game. Too bad the offense usually cannot get things done after you guys acquired Thomas and Bradley --- a big reason why the A's have lost so many 1 run games. My Red Sox is off today, giving us an extra day to prepare the series against the Tribes. Hopefully, we will be able to take the series. :)

Defense? Heard of it?

A win is a win. If the A's can keep the runs low they don't need to score.

Ok Swisher with 3 straight games with a homerun. Chavez with another blast.
Great add of Wily Mo Pena, he hasn't done anything and Swisher has just about the same amount of homeruns Papi and Ramirez have.
My Red Sox is off today, giving us an extra day to prepare the series against the Tribes. Hopefully, we will be able to take the series. :)
Yeah with offense like Cleveland I doubt they'll win
Crashman, sure your A's have lots of homer runs. However, the thing is: a solo home run counts as 1 run, a double when the bases are loaded usually means 3 runs. It is just a shame that you guys usually fail to put men on base before going yard. Yea, Swisher had 1 grand slam a few days ago, but you people still lost. I will also give your pitchers credits for pitching well besides Loaiza, my BoSox have idiots like Matt Clement and fattttttt Wells too. But the difference is, our offense normally click when it counts. That is why we usually win instead of losing those close games. Do not say that it is still early in the season, 12-7 is way better than 9-11. I am very confidence that My boys will have a better record than you guys at the end of the season as well.
Ive seen Boston start out 20-4 end still ending up coming 2nd in the division because they fuck up. So just wait. A's will come back on fire like always

Yeah, I used to love the battles of Nomar and Jeter in the Yanks - Sox matchups. 'Nomar's Better' being the chant at Fenway, but the highly original 'Jeter's Better' retort from the Yankees fans in the Bronx matchups.

I would hope so, as we would both look like idiots for the day.
I think I realized the problem with the link though. It was a link that opened in a new window (much like the NG profile link), and was to open a media player which played the video. Enough computer stuff, back to baseball.
The Phils have been playing half decently since their roadtrip, which in retrospect was just what they needed as they started off the season 1-5 at home. Currently they're 8-10, which means they've played above .500 ball starting at the trip, but in my opinion they still aren't playing up to par to challenge the fast starting Mets. They really need to win these early games and try to build a lead on the Braves and Mets if they can because we know that The Braves will always find a way to try and win the NL East, and it seems everyone is picking the Mets to dethrone them. Last year they couldn't win enough early games, and they finished 1 out of the WC and 2 or 3 if memory serves out of the NL East.
The Problem with the Phils is their pitching. Their "Ace" is 0-4 with an 8+ ERA so far, and 3 other pitchers haven't been in the bigs for more than 3 years each. They haven't had decent pitching for the longest time now, and have been making it up with their hitting, which doesn't always work as you can have that off day every once in a while, and not every park is as tight as Citizens' Bank Park. It really starts with their farm systems which aren't that great. The Phils gotta develop talent that suits CBP, like pitchers that can move the ball, but generally keep it low, but still in or close to the strike zone. The hanging breaking ball is the enemy to pitchers, most especially in Philly.

You surely hope so, don't you? But the cold hard fact is that it was the Angels who won the division in the last 2 seasons. In addition, my Red Sox also got better records than you guys in the past 3 years. It has been a while since your team won the WS for the last time, and my guys won in 2004. You just have to admit that BoSox was a better team than your A's in recent history. Oh, I am positive that Zito is going to fuck up again --- 30 pitches already by the end of the first inning. :)
Crashman, when are you always hidding when your team fuck up? Did you say the Rangers' back to back homers at the bottom of the third inning? Told ya that Zito would blow today. :)
Big Papi went yard! Now it is all tied at 4 apiece. Go Red Sox! :D:D:D
What the hell was that, Schilling was still on the mound after throwing 110 pitches by the end of the six. What was Francona thinking? Now we've got a tied ball game again, damn it!

Well aren't you just the little pest.
Ok, so anyway.
I dropped Shannon Stewart from my fantasy team just on the fact that Phil Nevin is a Texas Ranger and the Rangers always have great offense. Plus Nevin already has 6 homers and 17 RBIs, but now I have 5 people that can start for me at 1B (Xavier Nady, Jeff Kent, Ryan Howard, Nick Johnson, Phil Nevin). I'm looking into finding a good breakout OF for now, but it seems like everyone's getting swooped up, which is unfortunate, but i'll have to keep and eye out, and keep my eye on Shannon Stewart, especially in this series against the KC Royals, to see how he comes back from a four or five game stay with his wife who gave birth. He's a career over-.300 hitter, but I replaced him with Jose Guillen in the oF, though I doubt Guillen will get much hitting power in this series, as he's already 0-2 or 0-3 tonight, as of now. Rafael Furcal and Jeff Kent are still playing like shit, and I really am in a rut now as I can't cut them (they're non-cuttable players in the Yahoo! League), and with their stats, not too many people in my 12-person league are going to want to pick them up. I'm thinking of going after Jim Thome in exchange for Ryan Howard/Phil Nevin and maybe a package player, or even a package deal for a backup catcher (Currently Josh Willingham is my Catcher but nobody is backing him up on off days after I dropped Javy Lopez and Mike Piazza), considering Thome is back in the AL where he's dominated since 1998, and has been monsterous since 2001 until he left for the Phillies, where he produced wonderful for them as well. My outfield continues to be the wet blanket of my lineup, and pair that with the always-benched Jeff Kent and Rafael Furcal and you've got one shitty team, despite the fact that last week's win in the overall week made my team over .500, previously being 11-18. My pitching is starting to blow up in my face though, I need Jake Peavy and Johan Santana to settle in already, they've cost me at least 5 wins total. I was thinking of going after Greg Maddux but I don't know how he'll do in the long run. Oscar Villarreal has been basically the only active Relief Pitcher for me lately, as Chad Cordero and Mike Gonzales have not had a save in many games now, and Gonzales barely sees any action as the Pirates tend to get blown out. Villarreal unfortunately has just raised his ERA to about 1.20-1.23 or so and hasn't picked up any wins or saves in a while so i'm kind of worried, and I may end up dropping or trading off someone so as to pick up Rafael Soriano and/or JJ Putz of the Mariners, who are supposed to be taking the place of Eddie Guardado who's got a ballooned ERA as of late, something far over 10 if I recall correctly. With the real lack of catching power and relief pitching these days, those two catergories get snatched up quickly, and so once someone starts doing well he's snatched up, and once he starts doing bad he gets dropped like a fly. I really want to look into getting Tom Gordon of the Phillies, or maybe someone lightweight, possibly Octavio Dotel once he comes off the DL for the Yankees, as I know Felix Hernandez of the Mariners (I know, I know, SP, but he does bullpen work these days) and Felix Hernandez of god-knows-what-team these days are unavailable, as is Francisco Rodriguez (K-Rod), as he always is, and the big ones such as Trevor Hoffman, Mariano Rivera, Huston Street, Brad Lidge, Billy Wagner and a couple others are big names and will never be available unless they go on the DL for the season. I really don't know who's been good in Relief Pitching, so if you guys have any recommendations, give me them so I can see if they're available. I've been watching LaTroy Hawkins, now on the Orioles staff, but he's been unable to get anything done this year.
Unfortunately I was too slow to pick up Kevin Mench on his hot streak, so i'm still keeping an eye on Ty Wigginton, who's been gettin' Wiggy with it for a while now, but when the D-Rays face the Yankees and Sox for the next two weeks, this would be the challenging moments for Wigginton until the return of Aubrey Huff.
More to come later/tomorrow.

Red Sox win a great game against Cleveland 8-6 both Ramirez and Ortiz went deep for the Soz and Papelbon got the save yet again (he's 8 for 8) Ortiz has been hitting well since the season started but now Manny's heating up so the offense is going to be a lot better now.

The offense backed Schilling today as my Red Sox won again, and improved to 13-7. :) Manny's 3 run homer at the eighth put my Red Sox up for good. :D Hopefully, it is the sign of the return of the king. :D
The Yanks also won 9-1 over the Devil Rays, Mussina oitched another great game but at least they didn't gain any ground on the Sox. For anyone who cares Barry Bonds hit his second Homer tonight against Steve Trachsel and the Mets.

Another one loss run for the A's. 5-6. Tough loss but still plenty of time to make up games.
Shelton is playin like a champ this year, 9 HR so far. Infante is a pimp too. I hope the Tiges keep this up all year. Restore the Roar!

But more importantly, we didn't lose any ground on the Sox. Still a very long way to go.

Ah, Barry Bonds. A cross between Ty Cobb and Pete Rose. A Jerk who you either love or hate, who may well be one of the greatest players ever to break the rules and get away with it.
Rose admitted his guilt 20 years after he retired. How long will it take Barry?

I respectfully disagree; Jaret Wright was a product of the devil, sent to earth to torture Yankee fans with his mediocrity. Man does he suck.

How long before someone starts talking about the curse of Bronson Arroyo? The Sox are down early 3-0 to the Indians which is not good. Barry Bonds hit his 711th homer (not in the season) today as a pinch hitter off of Billy Wagner who blew his second save today the Giants still lost 9-7 and finally Mike Piazza hit his 400th today pretty much making him a lock for the Hall Of Fame.
