Cubs winning 8-0 tonight. Boy Derrek Lee was a great pickup in the offseason.

I bet they will. They can come back and get the wild card spot. If their starting pitchers can remain strong, and if the lineup they have right now continues to swing the hot bat, they'll be an unstoppable force down the stretch and into the playoffs.

Last Post? 2 months ago...and in that time, The Bo Sox won the series.

Well, we can still discuss who's being re-signed and what the free agents are up to this off season.

I wonder which team Pedro Martinez may end up going to? Looks like one of the New York teams as of right now.

being a boston fan, i suprisingly dont care about pedro's final destination, as a matter of fact,

Curt => Manny => Big Papi

are all i need :: :D

There's been a lot of moves going down in the off-season so far. I'm still interested in seeing where Pedro Martinez ends up.

I'd like to join. I've been a baseball fan, since being able to watch it across the pond from the 1999 season. I'm a Yankees fan and my favourite players are Derek Jeter, A-Rod (I liked him before he was a Yankee) and Albert Pujols (Gunning for Hank's record, though it might be Barry's by the time he gets there)

Why must Pedro stay with Boston? I don't think he'd fit into the Yankees clubhouse, and the Mets are too bad a team for him to consider, unless the money is (Very) good.

BTW, what is your opinion on the Barry Larkin situation. You must be really gutted, Redangleprince.

Well....lets just say I'm not a Red's fan anymore. The bastards did alot to lose me but I was ever loyal. Larkin did not deserve that kind of treatment. He's been the club vet and captain for years and had always led them on. He was the hero of Cincinnati. The peoples hero anyway.

I hope to see him go play for another team, even just for one last year. The best thing to happen would be if he landed with the Red Sox. Cabrera needs a little guidance anyway.

Shock news of the Off-season! Pedro MArtinez expected to be announced as a New York Met later this week. I'm stunned, but I think it would definately be a bad thing if he ended up as a Yankee.

Huge news! Randy Johnson looks like he'll end up a Yankee. It's a three-team trade between the Yankees, Diamondbacks, and Dodgers. The only things that might keep Randy from being a Yankee is his and Shawn Green's no-trade clauses in their contracts.

I think Randy may well waive his no trade clause if he's going to Yankee Stadium for next year.

For the first time since 2000, I think the Yankees may actually have a functioning rotation and bullpen. This could make for an interesting season.

Damn, i never wanted to see The Big Unit pitch for the Yankees, and The Mets getting Pedro is just wrong.

Why do bad things happen to good pitchers?

Bad things... Yeah, such a waste, all that talent of Matt Clement going to Boston.

On a lighter note, the Yankees are expected to announce next week that Carl Pavano and Jaret Wright have been signed to long term deals.

Our rotation is looking sweet. Throw El Duque and Mussina into the mix, coupled with the possibility (But sever doubt if Randy arrives) that Kevin Brown will return and you have a pitching staff to be feared.

Don't forget our Bullpen, of course (F-Rod, Flash Gordon and some guy called Rivera, who no-one's ever heard of)

The way the hot stove is bubbling away at the moment, we are shaping up for one of the best Yankees Vs Red Sox years of all time. Yankees getting an amazing pitching rotation, couples with one of their best ever offensive staff. Still a little fine tuning is needed, with the possibility of Carlos Beltran coming in to be the regular CF, moving Berine Williams to DH for this season. (Possibly his last in pinstripes) and the Acquisition of Tino Martinez, to cover for Jason Giambi, who is the only question mark for us this year. Maybe the Yankees are trying to prove that Boston was just a flash in the pan last year.

The way this is shaping up, I'm inclined to believe it.

Rivera is one of the top postseason closers.
