Rofl!
Red Sox are sucking on all fronts. you don't generally win playoff games with only 2 runs.
We did win Game 1 with the score 2-0.
Ok, they got 4 now... whatever.
Our offense was not that bad, it was our pitching did ourselves in.
I won't say it's over, but it sure as hell is bleak. Even with a "W" in the next game with Dice-K, Beckett's going to suck and finish off the year, most likely.
It is not over till it is over. As long as we win Game 5, we will get the momentum back. Don't forget that Kazmir is almost as bad if not worse in the playoffs.

Yeah, but there you were, telling me a few weeks ago that the Regular Season is so different from the postseason.
Since we are talking about this year, Dice K should get the nod over Wakefield who may still have some health issues. I am not saying that Dice K will pitch well on short rest, but it is worthy to take a chance.
I still think Francona made the right choice. Who better to try and dig you out of a big hole than Dice-K, who's bene one of your best pitchers this term?

Not that I could ever watch a baseball series involving the Red Sox as a neutral, but it's really good to watch this postseason from a non-participating neutral fan.
Now if we can add some pinstripes to it for next year, we can get knocked out by the burgeoning Rays Dynasty*

I take no umbrage with the assumption that the Rays (if and when they get in) will beat my Phils (if and when they get in). The AL has been the better league for quite a while, specifically the AL East. And now with the Rays showing that they can take care of the best of Boston AND New York - injuries or no injuries to each respective clubs - I'm already under the assumption that the AL team will beat the NL team. I'll take anything other than a sweep in good spirits.
What I DO take umbrage with that last statement is that there ARE Pinstripes in the postseason, just the Phillies red and not your Yankee blue Coop!. :)

Well, it makes for good watching. If (I'll still use that for at least another game :P) the Phils and Rays meet in the World Series, I won't be unhappy for either team to win.

Now both you know and I know that I was refering to the Yankee blue pinstripes. There are other teams that wear them (White Sox, Marlins and the Cubs, aside from the Yanks and Phils). This case, I was referring to the lack of presence from the Bronx Bombers. Maybe next season, we'll be able to put a reasonable challenge up against the Rays for the Division.
Still, I look forward to seeing how it all pans out :)

I just want the Rays-Sox series to be over so DoD won't be making 8 multiple posts per game anymore.
So go Rays.

Billingsley are in trouble again, the Dodgers are doomed. At least Manny will not be factor in the WS if we somehow come back against the Rays.

No shutout, but just 1 ER over 7 innings, I'll take that any day. Once more it was pretty much a team effort, in both holding the Dodgers to just one run and scoring enough to give Cole a good cushion for that added confidence. Of course, those 2 runs that were unearned due to Furcals 3 errors in 1 inning won't be poo-pooed either. Take 'em any way you can get 'em I say.
I'm glad the series ended the way I hoped it would've. Philly is going nuts right now. I'm also glad that the team has an attitude that it's not done yet. Any reporter asking about how excited the team has gotten a bit of a subdued response, involving them saying that they know they're not done yet.

Yeah you would have to figure that Ramirez guy would get his just cause but besides him total domination by Cole Hamels.

I would like to give out my congratulations to you guys phileeguy, buddhist and pepeatumi and your Philadelphia Phillies for making the World Series for the first time since 1993,i hope they do win it all cause Philadelphia is long overdue for a championship of some sort considering the last was in 1980 by the Phillies so i wish you guys' team all the best in the World Series.
Also on a side note God bless Charlie Manuel for the day after he and his team clinches a trip to the World Series he will have to go bury his mom who passed away recently.

Phileeguy, do you still remember what happened to the once red-hot Rockies after a ten-days lay-off? They cooled off! As much you want every player to be well rested, you do not want them to rest for too long as well. A five-days rest is what the team needs the most. It may harm your team if the vocation is too long,

Yes, DoD... then again they were facing a much better Red Sox team last year. This year the Sox aren't doing well at all and after tonight they could be eliminated. If that happens BOTH the Rays and the Phils will deal with the extended break. No excuses for either team then. The only way I can see momentum and a hot team being a big factor is if the Sox find another miracle and win this ALCS in game 7 and ride that wave. Frankly, I don't see it happening.

Damn you, Joe Maddon! He KNEW that Beckett was struggling. Therefore Kazmir who is also struggling will start tonight. If even he loses, the Rays still have James Shields who have been very solid all year long in Game 6 against Becktt who may even not be heathy. We are doomed.

Well, you've still got to win another 2 games in a row yet, before deciding whether or not to have Dice-K take the hill against the Phils. Tampa remain a potential banana skin for you, so I'd stick to concentrating on that part for now. However, he's unlikely to pitch for the remainder of the ALCS, unless extra innings are called for and then he'd only maybe do 1-2. If he does that in game 7, it might rule him out of game 1 against Hamels.

The vocation is 162 games.
The vacation is ten days, probably 6-7 for the Rays.

also, if Shields loses the next game, i'll be fuckin'....surprised.
and does anyone wanna take bets on how fucked up Beckett's shoulder is? Fatty needs to either fix his diet or fix his exercise regimen because apparently they're not working well with each other these days.

It is an off day today. Even if the Rays win tomorrw, they will not have a 6-7 days. They would have a week off if they knew how to protect a 7-0 lead. I am actually glad that it is an off day today, it will give the Rays one more day to think about their failure in Game 5. If that gets into their heads, we will have a great chance to win IF Beckett is healthy.

I would start Lester in Game 6 if I was the Red Sox's skipper. Beckett's health is a major concern. We are the side with momentum, Lester has chips on his shoulders after losing Game 3. If Lester wins Game 6 in regular rest, we will gain more momentum and it will gives Beckett one more day to rest. Joe Maddon switched the order between Kazmir and Shields and it worked well as Kazmir limited us to 2 hits. I think that Terry Francona should switch the order which will give us a better chance to advance.

Beckett looks like the old self and we are leading the Rays 2-1 after four innings. :)
Go Red Sox, let's even up the series!!! :D
