Just to throw out there in my fantasy league which uses Rotisserie points i lead by 6 points 83/100 ^_^
2nd in Runs,3rd in Homers,3rd in RBIs,2nd in Stolen Bases,3rd in AVG.,1st in Strikeouts,4th in Wins,3rd in Saves,3rd in ERA and 3rd in WHIP
If anyone doesn't know what Rotisserie style means it's basically this, there are 10 teams and 10 catagories of placement (like i just named off) and you add up all those points and that is what your score is (1st is 10,2nd is 9,3rd is 8,etc.) i find it pretty fun and an interesting play in fantasy sports. =)
If anyone else here is playing fantasy baseball let's hear how you are doing. ^_^

Was it along the lines of my racist Southern drawl?
That's the thing with potential, you can't see exactly what you've got until it plays out.I understand that, but the Rangers have long been far from a WS title shot, and yet in the past couple years they've traded almost all of their top pitching prospects for almost nothing, knowing full well that they would turn out to be good when they made the trade.
Yeah, I thought they were trying to encourage the kids on a bit when they brought in Sammy Sosa last year to try and belt a few morale lifting bombs. It appears that now it's turned out to be just a bums on seats exercise.
Also, an interesting article on what would happen if Barry Bonds and Babe Ruth switched places in time and history; how it might pan out.
I'll be highly interested to see how many Homers the Babe finishes up with. My money is firmly on 800+ The best season he had with Boston was 29, while he ended up hitting 53 that season for the Bucs. What about when he really started to slug for the Yankees, how will he cope then, I wonder?
I think that Bonds might well have ended up on a few WS winning teams and the Ruth probably wouldn't, given how the first 6 years have panned out. Ruth reclaims his Crown as king of the hitters and Bonds becomes another footnote of history, as he couldn't get steroids back in the day and he wasn't hitting massive numbers of HRs.

*slaps* I never said such a thing! I said that I'd been made to think "What if?" I still think Hughes is capable of pitching well at the Major League Level. If all they'd wanted was Kennedy, then Kennedy would have been in a Twins uniform now and Johann would be taking the pressure off Chien-Ming Wang, by being the Yankees superstar pitcher
It's the second time he stunk, he's 3-4 because he haven't getting much help lately.
Andy Pettite got all the help he needed and Hideki Matsui got loads of help in blowing the candles out on his 34th Birthday Cake. A Grand Slam to lead us past the As 4-1.

Against the Fish, Jamie Moyer is ageless. He pitched really well last night, but I'm loathe to pick him up for my fantasy team, as he's not that stellar against other teams and doesn't get too many strikeouts.

Started off great, now we're doing pants. I suffered injuries and didn't want to give the players up, but eventually had to. Phil Hughes has left the team and I made a mistake in trading Cole Hamels for less than he was worth. I've taken a few gambles on rookies to bolster the lineup and Adrian Gonzalez is certainly proving to be a bright spot, as was Furcal until he got injured. I've gone with the crap shoot of Rick Ankiel, because everyone loves a feel good story :P

C - Brian McCann
1B - James Loney
2B - Brian Roberts

SS - Steven Drew
2B/SS - Brandon Phillips
1B/3B Joey Votto
OFs Grady Sizemore,Hideki Matsui,Nate Mclouth,Jay Bruce (grabbed him his first game) and Jacoby Ellsbury
Utility - Milton Bradley
SP - Cole Hamels,C.C Sabathia (i grabbed him after that horrible start he had for someone let him go haha),John Lackey (someone also let him go for he was on the DL a while),Scott Kazmir (same way i got Lackey),James Shields,Gavin Floyd (muh sleeper ^_^) and Adam Wainwright who is DL'd but i keep 2 SPs benched until they start so it's a great rotation

That's a highly harsh statement. There's a good deal of factors that could influence it. Someone could distract Ryan Howard with a Big Mac during his next at-bat. That's a given. But he only K'd once today, which is better than twice. Unfortunately their entire offense was Pat Burrell today with a 2R Hr and they lost 3-2. I just hate it when your team puts up just 2 runs and loses by 1, when they put up 20 the previous day.
Oh and P.S., I'm tired of this RedSox Nation bandwagon shit. As I'm typing this post I have MLB on Fox on and its the Reds/Red Sox and I hear Griffey ground into a double play to end the inning, and all I hear is cheers. Naturally I assume they're in Boston, but for cryin out loud they're in Cincinnati. It bugs the hell out of me when the home team is outnumbered by "fans" (and I use that term loosely) of the opposing team. Ever since they won in 2004 it's been "hip" to be a Sox fan, and all these losers are coming out of the woodwork. God, I hope the Phillies can give the Sox a beatdown when they come to town just to shut their fans up.

They existed, but never really had the cojones to bother showing up to opposing teams home fields. Now they show up en mass like they have some sort of entitlement to it. I blame Theo Epstein. Sure, I'd like a GM like him that won a couple W.S. titles, but he created a monster. I think I liked Boston's fan base when they were still dealing with the Curse. I know to them Baseball is a religion, but the way they are acting up they've got to be the Mormons (no offense to any LDS members out there) of the MLB, what with their showing up and claiming that Boston is the team of destiny and whatnot. When they wouldn't be saying this if those 2 titles hadn't happened. Last I checked, they've got a ways to go to catch up to NY's 26 titles.

Cards won against the Phillies today 7-6, which means they take the series. That makes 8 out 10 series the Cardinals have won after losing the first game, lewl.

I knew the Phils had their hands full with the way the rotation came in, with Eaton and Myers pitching the final 2 games. Eaton actually pitched decntly, but the offense died after that 20 run outing. They woke back up in the final game, but Myers proved to be a pitcher they need to seriously think about doing something with. He leads the league in HR allowed, and is pretty high up there in ERA. He's doing quite bad, to put it mildly. I could do nothing but laugh in the way they gave it away though. Utley throws away the first time to Gordon for the Error, which would've ended the inning. And then when Chase realized he had another shot to redeem himself and get out of the inning, Gordon couldn't catch it, and the Cards win on an Error.
Molina should be fine after suffering a mild concussion at that play at the plate.
Ok, so here's what bothers me; they've lost 2 straight series. Series in which they could've Won them both. Sure a 5-4 road trip is better than say a 3-6, but they could've easily won 7 if they didn't shoot themselves in the foot. I just hope this isn't a start of something awful. They've got Boston and Anah... the Los Angeles Angels coming to town, both good teams. If they have a bad homestand against these two and the Marlins/Mets and/or Braves play decently, the Phils could find themselves out of first and in a downward spiral.
Ken Griffey Jr. reportedly would consider waiving his no-trade clause to be dealt to the Tampa Bay Rays. Griffey, a resident of Orlando, Fla., has a no-trade clause but would be interested in waiving it if he could be dealt closer to home to a contending team, SI.com reported, citing the unnamed sources.

Well this to me is the defianing moment to show true contention of the Phillies to win the NL East if they can take both series then have a winning record on the 9 game road trip against the A's,Rangers and Braves and with the first series they can be a great cause (along with the Cubs and Cardinals) of showing the National League is just as good if not better then the American League, also something to consider that Ryan Howard is coming back to MVP form batting .384 with 4 Homers the past 8 games and here's a stat for ya if Howard hits an RBI he's batting .567 if he doesn't have an RBI he's batting .067 so he's been an all or nothing guy.

He should read up on his history, because the DH wasn't even used until 1973. It's not like it's been around forever. So for the better part of it's history the MLB hasn't had the DH implemented, and more than half of it's teams still don't use it. Maybe he should get off his high horse. No wonder this team is faltering.

It's not like Wang got hurt trying to bunt and getting hit by a pitch or something. He got hurt running. This could've happened when he was playing the field, so his argument doesn't hold water in my opinion.

The DH Rule is one of the worst things about the AL. It's a real feel good factor when two teams are pretty evenly matched and the pitcher steps up to the plate and blows it apart with a 2-run blast.
Need we also forget that one of the greatest offensive players in the game started his career as a pitcher? Oh yeah, he's the all time Yanks leader in Long Balls with 665 of them for the Bombers. Wasn't he a pitcher to start with?
