For ages now I have edited files from my desktop, then uploaded them...... using Vi is much easier (at least I think so). Anyone used it before?

vi is great for minor updates but not to develop in.

dude.. i'm the vi fuckin master! I developed Java purely in vi for half a year once! the only thing it's missing is syntax highlighting.
