This would be a good idea if you're planning on chronicling your progress with music over time. Have a look at the "PSA: Portfolio threads" sticky to see if that's a thing you'd like to do.
Otherwise, if you want to advertise singular tracks, please refer to the "Audio Advertisements!" thread.
For announcements like in this post, a user page blog post seems the most appropriate to me.
