I have had an interesting run on NG. It's been a decade and a half since I started here. After 15+ years, it finally returned to it's source for me.
I first found Newgrounds because of hentai. Really awful hentai.

This is what brought me to NG, the online community that helped me take my first steps to becoming my true self. I've learned and developed, thought about difficult things, and eventually grew up and moved on. Now I just visit NG a few days once a month, like family I've moved away from.
Then, when looking through some hentai, (I swear I do other stuff) I find some quality work through Zone-sama, one of my favorite artists.

Thanks to this site, I have been (im)properly introduced to Steven Universe, which I've recently started marathoning on Hulu. Within the first two episodes, I already care about the main character in the same way I care about Finn or Luffy.
I don't like to waste my time on pointless shows like Chowder or Regular Show. I need some real progression to enjoy it for more than novelty. So when someone like Zone-sama chooses it for a porn parody, it must have something to it. After all, Zone had to watch it enough to have animated the characters as well as she (I think) did.
Quality animators tend to enjoy quality shows, just like quality writers tend to read quality books. Newgrounds has been growing in talent and excellence at the same time as I've been maturing and developing. Thank you, Newgrounds, for continuing to enrich my life well into my adulthood, and giving me a home to return to when things are tough, or I've lost my way.
