Sometimes, when i take a shower before i go to bed, i like to take a shower with the lights off.
Something about hearing the water fall, feeling it on your skin without seeing anything is really relaxing.

Does anyone else do this or have you tried it?

I have when the power's out. It's not bad. Just make sure you don't slip and die.

Happily ETS'd.

I'm glad someone else knows how inherently scary being in the shower is. You're in a slippy shower or bathtub, nowhere to run, naked, no real weapons around, loud noise keeps you from hearing anyone sneaking up on you and you've got your eyes closed to keep the soap out. It's literally the perfect place for you to be murdered and I used to actually worry about this as a small child for some reason.

You live on such a tiny island, at least Gilligan explored his! You're just drawing a tiny circle around your mud hut and saying everything outside it is totally gay.

Fun fact: Queen Isabella of Castile proudly boasted to only ever bathed twice in her life. This was basically her saying "I literally just sit on my queenly thicc ass all day on this goddamn throne, I basically don't ever sweat or get dirty therefore I basically never actually need to wash."

In short, she was so powerful and regal she never had to physically exert herself ever and barely ever went outside and this was considered something to boast about for noblewomen in Late Medieval Europe.

Though in truth, this was probably just because no one was stupid enough to tell a reigning queen that she smelled of stale ass.

That may be how you roll, but I keep an ADS amphibious rifle hung on the shower head. Kinda like a soap-on-a-rope.

Well compared to dying in piss and shit filled streets dying of plague and possibly starving to death it probably was something to boast about...

Don't remember quite rightly but I think the frequency which medieval peasants bathed was like a leading cause of disease among the lower classes since everyone would get their water from the same diseased well or bathe in the same dirty ass pond to wash a hard day's work of grime off. The worst part is this was fairly commonly known, hence why aristocrats rarely bathed.

Basically, if you worked for a living in The Middle Ages you had to decide "Is smelling like rotten ass really so bad that it's worth possibly dying for?".

True but to my knowledge my coffee doesn't currently have diseases and filth in it.

I hope.

Nothing too out of the ordinary...

That's what probably gives it a rich flavour though, so that's fine. A little insect turd and dead bugs is good for you. Living in a bubble is just as bad as living in squalor, my grandmother used to say. Though it's worth noting she was a paranoid schizophrenic who used to paint pictures of dead infants in her own shit. Everyone has their quirks.

I've done it once or twice. Can be real spooky though if you have an imagination specifically for creepy shit like I do. I've eaten a bowl of ice cream in the shower before and people told me that was pretty weird. Sometimes you just want ice cream though.

I used to do that when I lived with my parents because the window would let in a little light. My apartment's bathroom has no windows, though, and I'm a klutz so there's a pretty real chance I'd die.

I shower to clean myself. I prefer to see that which I clean.

I installed a dimmer switch in my bathroom just for this purpose. I love taking baths or showers in dimly lit light. I'll usually light up a candle and use bubble bath if it's a bath, also.

done it, no problem. i don't go out of my way to do it, but i have had someone cut off the lights for a "joke". it's all the same as in the light, and i'm not scared of the boogeyman getting me.
