Tbh I played it because it was so popular, no waiting too much in lobby for games. It was fun but I believe it was too famous for what it was. And I could not get passed level 29 because of all the fucking modders.
Definitely Overwatch. That game is good, but come on. 5 vs 5 has been out there since ages. Slapping some Tracer butt on there ain't gonna make it THE best game.

I'm surprised so many people here think GTA V is overrated.
Anyways, a lot of the COD games are overrated. Angry Birds and Flappy Bird were extremely overrated when they were popular. Even though it just came out, I think Resident Evil 7 is somewhat overrated. Finally, I think Manhunt is pretty overrated. I could never get into it. It's not that appealing of a game.
It's all shits and giggles until someone giggles and shits.
Most N64 classics have a lot of hype that they don't live up to. Especially Ocarina of Time.
Undertale, that shit was way overblown. The fans don't help its case either.

I hate Star Wars KOTOR 2, every review gave it a great score and I loved the first one. The sequel was garbage!

I tend to stay back from conversations about what is the most overrated games, partly because of subjectivity, but also because it tends to ends up as "I don't like x game because reasons." That said though, I do this from time to time too.
If I had to pick one, I would go with Dark Souls. The fundamentals are fine, but I honestly don't really care for the lore, as I feel like it's basically Game of Thrones but darker. (no pun intended)
