I am an Australian and even though i live on the other side of the world i feel greatly saddened by your loss, as our prime minister John Howard said " America has the backing and support of the Australian people, and we will do everything in our power to help bring these people to justice"
For everybody in New York and the families left behind may god watch over you.

I don't know, maybe there's a point to all this in whatever plan whoever up there has. It's still fucking disgusting, but you have to remember that the Christian God doesn't like to get involved much anymore, after the Old Testament. The New Testament isn't as graphic as the Old.

Or maybe it's easier to think that in times of strife some magician with a beard is going to take care of you.

Well being that america targeted military targets rather than civilian, I doubt that what you say really bears relivance.

Extract From BBC report on Kosovo
"This veteran combat pilot, who had flown hundreds of missions in Vietnam and whose devotion to those under his command is striking and beyond dispute, was so appalled by the orders he was being given that "there were a couple of times when I felt I just can't do this any more. We're just not doing this right and I owe it to my people to stand up and say we're just not doing this right"."
Now if America wanted to keep civilan casualities low they could have used ground troops.
"This angered the Americans. "There was irritation at the very public way the British Government was pushing the ground troops option," says Jamie Rubin, especially since inevitably it meant pressing for the deployment of American ground troops."

I don't think that finding a report on something completetly diffrent supports your opinion.

Several hundred U.S. troops died in the brief battle, and ten's of thousands of Iraqis died. Many, if not most, of the U.S. deaths were the result of "friendly fire".
Not only wasn't Iraq's army poised to invade Saudi Arabia, they were hardly even an army at all. They were mostly Iraqi teenagers recruited for the war, who simply surrendered if given the opportunity. The worlds forth largest army turned out to be a convienient exageration to justify 'Desert Shield' and 'Desert Storm'. The U.S. had raised lots of money from it's coalition partners for the war. It turned out to be so easy, the U.S. actually made a profit. Kuwait was safely restored to it's former dictators, and it got a bunch of new oil fields in formerly disputed border areas as well.
