People have opinions to share, and Newgrounds is one of the few bastions that allow it. Where as on something like youtube, you'ed be blocked or have your comment deleted at the drop of a hat. Because of this, critiques may come off as more harsh than what you might be used to.

On the flip of the dick, if your work is well done, it's that much more rewarding when it's praised.

Sure, I'm not against critic if it's healthy, I might even thank them for telling me what I need to improve, but giving upgraded game lower rating than previous version... that's just what an a**hole would do. Q_Q

From what I've gathered you can differentiate between constructive criticism and when someone is being critical with their review and a kid just leaving a comment. So therefore you should know what you can gather from each type of review on feedback and just a comment. If you are able to discern the difference then you're good to go.

If you feel someone is using the review space to personally insult you or offering very little constructive criticism and simply ripping into your work simply to jeer, then contact one of our review moderators.

One thing you should know is this. You can't always expect "experts" to look over your work and give you feedback. You have to take the general audience into account as well. Remember, the general audience doesn't always know what it wants, I should know because I'm part of the general audience. If you upload your works here you are uploading them mainly for the general audience so you should expect all sorts of feedback from them.

As the old saying goes... If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Well, I only review games I'm interested in. I don't have enough experience in that kind of games to decide if it's good or bad, in this case I'm not reviewing. I'm not into that kind of games. :D But sadly not everyone acts like me, for example my game got low rating just because it's 120mb & loading slowly and also because it contains nudity. WTF? I'm sorry. Normally I would read the ENTIRE thread but for fucks sake... I've been on NG since I was a huge faggot back in the day and ALMOST NOTHING HAS CHANGED. The one thing that i would blame for killing the site is the giant influx of wannabes and ego-over-example setters but they don't ussually last that long either.

Also, as stupid as it sounds, I would not consider NG dead. I would like to say that I believe it is only stagnant right now and with some originality(nonhipster) and inspiration, and effort, it will be back in full form..
